While this whole thing was Crystalline’s responsibility, Berry would be damned if she was gonna let her shoulder the responsibility. If they wanted to get technical, this had only happened because Berry’s own selfish nature. Her confrontation. Her past that she was forced to kill with her very own hands. At least, in her own twisted worldview. That’s how she saw it in her own black and white world. Even with the source of her mind’s haunting phrase had long been slain, she couldn’t help but still hear the phrase. ‘All your fault.’ On the way out, Berry planted a kiss on Crystalline’s head top; just a little pre-battle smooch to silently announce her devotion to her mare and her cause. Carmine followed behind Gray with the intent to change into something more street ready. Of course, he brought the actor to a more private area of the house to air out the grievances, which he did understand. “Gray, I know this is wild, but I have to make sure she can do this, okay? I don’t rightly believe this shit either, but they do. Something is up.” His eyes grew softer as his explanation prattled on… but, of course, there was that lingering anxiety that they might fall in to the demon’s clutches. “I’m not gonna let anything happen to you. Demon or psycho; nothing’s taking you away from me… and ain’t a force alive that’ll take me away from you. No night without day, right?” He flashed his necklace that lingered on his bare chest— since the day Gray passed it on, he had always had it on. Back outside, Berry was humming with a little skip in her step as she hopped along the princess’s side. “Mm… I wonder if there’s a way we can predict where they are before they pop up? Or lure them!” A tactic for a different battle, Berry’s favorite fighting style was shock and awe. She could work with this, though. Carmine lingered back out of caution, with his hand intertwined with Gray’s. “So… where is it?”

View MoreNot expecting the kiss on her head, Crystal would twitch a bit form it. Peeking up at the unicorn badass and offering a small smile. Well, it usually didn't take much to get the princess's confidence up, but this wouldn't be enough to completely raise it. She was still very unsure about allowing others to get involved... but they deserved to know. As for herself, she just wanted to make sure everyone would be safe. They would have someone to protect them if something happened to Crystal, but only for a short time. Enchantments like this aren't easy to come by, and do not last. But she had no skip in her step, and had seemingly become the more serious of the two for this. She knew the tricks of these creatures, so beating or outsmarting them was something that the pegasus knew well. "We can lure it, Berry. I am the lure." She'd look back at Carmine and Gray once they'd joined up and reached forward. As she did, the orb on her back would burst to life with magic. Pinks and blues swirling around her...encasing her body in a new outfit to wear. Like the last, it was white mostly, but the lights strands along the seams were now pink or blue depending on what side it was. Enchanted by her sisters magic. She carried no weapons. Strawberry would get zapped by a magical beam from her gem horn, her own usual getup glowing about her that she'd usually wear on...excursions. Along with a certain favorite weapon of hers floating down to land in her hand or magic. It still had the swirls of deeper blue. Magical Pone Power Up Extravaganza! It worked though. It didn't take long for the magic to be traced... Lights flickered around them, sparking and popping after a moment. Then a quick blue mist shot past Gray and Carmine, sliding to a halt and turning to face the group with a faceless expression. Literally, no face. It seemed to chuckle statically... This was a new ghost, a Jinn imitator for sure. For good measure, a few shadowy black soulless appeared ahead of them!

The whole time he maintained that nervous frown, “Awgh, Carmine I know, I know…!” he turned to his partner and sighed. He wasn’t trying to argue, simply to share his insecurity with him. And it showed in his soft gaze, “It’s just that this whole magical monster thing… It freaks me out!” “I don’t want Berry nor Crys to endanger themselves like that. A-and then there’s us!” He was done dressing up, now he turned his body to face Carmine’s as the other reassured him that nothing was going to happen to either of them. Gray shrugged his head between his shoulders and scratched at his cheek with uncertainty. His eyes followed the shimmer of his partner’s half of the necklace, instinctively reaching to his own half to expose it from underneath his top. “…R…right.” Gray took one deep breath. Before they were ready to crawl out of their little office-turned-home, Gray pulled Carmine for one of those bear hugs. He felt much better afterwards! By the time the pair emerged to join the girls, Gray was hand in hand with the detective. He was visibly calmer even though his wide eyes still revealed a certain nervousness that had not been completely eradicated yet. He decided to save his words as Crystalline did her thing! And what a strange thing it was… Unicorn magic was always something Gray remained unfamiliar with. Even though Berry herself had been blessed with the power, he had hardly ever seen her use it in the same manner he was now observing Crys utilize hers. A whole outfit change…!? The actor’s mouth turned into a little ‘o’ as the pair changed before his eyes, into some kind of a magical girl duo!? Yeah, he had to admit that it was pretty exciting! But his awe was cut short as something caused for the lights to flicker around them. At this point Gray had already seen enough scary movies to understand what that meant! “Hnnngh!! What’s that!?” He instantly threw his arms around Carmine to bring him closer. Gray more or less pressed the detective’s head against his chest in an attempt to ‘protect’ him from whatever it was that shot right past them. That thing had taken stance somewhere before the group and turned to reveal that it had…. No face!?!? Oh, it took everything in Gray’s power not to scream!!! Unfortunately, Carmine was taking the brunt of it, since the actor suddenly began to squeeze him against himself a lot tighter! “CRYS! …YOU SAID IT WAS JUST ONE!!!”
