"It has been just over ten years since having come to this place. A world full of wonders beyond my kind's imaginations, filled to the brim with just as much good and evil as the place from which I hail, but the line between both is...much more obvious. Many places I have traveled, seeing sights and laying witness to events only considered fantasy back home. I've thought about it for a long time, especially since the day I lost Sohen, and his daughters...I pray they're still out there somewhere, safe...Hell I hope they found a way back home. Which begs the question, have they abandoned me for my failures? Or have they too, have fallen to the Order of the Black Rose? It really is only me now...the last one..waiting for the inevitable, struggling against an unending nightmare of unimaginable power. Or maybe.. Maybe not as so, as I once thought for so long. All of my history is now meaningless by now, everything I once knew and loved; Gone forever, forgotten by all except myself, and soon it will perish with me some day, at this rate."
Hawk pondered for what felt like an hour, staring out at a sight that did more than just distract him, but caused him to drift off into daydreams, almost forgetting that he was writing down on a journal. On occasions, he wrote down his thoughts for the sake of posterity with a quill made from one of his own feathers, and perhaps in some desperate attempt at the slightest chance for somebody to one day know his story..maybe.
"Or maybe not. Of all things, a complete stranger saved my very life, unprovoked. She had every reason to just leave me to my fate, and that would have been that. The Black Rose would have my corpse, and their victory. Though I don't know what fate would still befall these lands with or without me. Either way, I highly doubt that my end would result in him leaving these people be...he is truly, irredeemably, Evil.. I've fought against him long enough to know this for sure, I'll put my soul at stake on that. But this person, this queen, unlike any being I have ever encountered in this world as of yet, and I've been as far as The Breach, I've been places. Something about her is...unique...Special maybe... I don't know, but something just nags at me to stay, though I fear for her and her people's safety while The Black Rose roams the world freely; Skulking in the shadows, scheming and most certainly manipulating nations and peoples against each other just to get at me some how.
He already managed to gather up an entire fleet of airships, as far as I know, it's an entire military, that's how I ended up with my benevolent rescuer in the first place."
Hawk paused his writing once again, dipping the quill into an ink well, before he would rub his now healed right eye with his left hoof out of old habit; he could still feel that occasional burning itch, wondering if it will ever go away before once again resuming the rest of the entry.
"My eye has been healed, I don't know how or why..let alone if what I think I know is true. Though my mind is clear, the voices stopped and my head now rings painfully of the roaring silence within my psyche. My heart is no longer filled with an unquenchable tamed rage, but instead with a longing sorrow, a desire to go back though it knows it's impossible."
"I am truly free now, free to let it go. Question is...do I really want to?"
He wraps up his writing and begins to put away the quill and ink before getting up and heading off to go do other things, leaving the parchment on the desk of the place that he now resides, within the Queen's lands of the Northern regions.
