The guards who had entered ... View More//Long post ahead. Grab some snacks if you plan to read this. The warm light of the small fire Nar had managed to create was the only light in this vast expanse of forest. The guards who had entered after Nar were nowhere to be found in the forest. Supposedly they had gone to get members from the Justiciar to help, but as of yet Nar hadn't heard a peep from any sort of search party. The charred meat of the bird Nar had managed to hunt was a testament to Nar's lack of culinary skill. It tasted awful, but when his rations were low he was going to eat whatever he could get his hands/hooves on. It takes him a while to finish the meal,but once he's full Nar simply lies back on the dirt looking up into the darkness that conceals the canopy above. Nar stares up into nothing until he's able to close his eyes, and sleep. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Crack. Snap! A series of noises rouses Nar from his slumber. His fire is still burning, but only barely. Dazed, Nar rises to a sitting position, and attempts to add some dry leaves to the fire for extra light. As he grabs a small pile of leaves and turns back to throw them onto the fire he freezes. A pair pale white eyes with no iris or pupils stares at him from a distance. After a few seconds the leaves begin to light, illuminating the wicked, sharp-toothed smile that accompanies the pair of eyes. Saliva drips from the mouth like a waterfall. In a bout of shock, and fear Nar recoils, and shoves himself backwards. The face begins to rise into the air until it reaches about 10 feet into the air. A large blade comes crashing down as Nar scrambles to his feet/hooves. It looks to be the blade of a glaive, and it's more than half the length of Nar's body. Nar quickly composes himself as the glaive raises out of sight. With a swift motion Nar scoops up a chunk of earth,and chucks it ahead of him. He can't tell exactly, but judging by the lack of an impact sound, and the rustle of leaves Nar believes he missed. Once again the glaive buries itself into the dirt next to Nar. He responds by lunging forwards, and throwing a rock coated fist at where he thinks the wielder is. His fist connects with flesh, and a mangled shout comes from the source. The glaive is lifted diagonally, and Nar feels his hooves lift from the ground below. He's tossed to his right, and tumbles upon landing on his side. Quickly scrambling to his feet Nar narrowly avoids the glaive's blade as it swipes just beside where he had been laying. This swipe is quickly followed by a horizontal slash which manages to catch Nar in the left side of his torso. A cry of pain escapes Nar's mouth as an intense, stinging pain rips through his side. He responds by chucking another rock at the source before lurching forwards to throw a series of rock coated punches. The attacks connect, but the opponent does not fall. The creature responds by digging its claws into Nar's back. This time Nar responds with a headbutt to what he thinks is the creature's gut. It retracts it's claws, and quickly recoils to defend itself before Nar lands another blow to it's right side. A quick follow up to it's left kneecap causes a loud, harsh cry with the sound of something crumpling to the ground two seconds later. Wasting no time Nar rips a sizeable chunk of earth out of the ground, and slams it into the chest of the creature. It gasps, and begins to wheeze before Nar lifts the boulder, and slams it down a few feet higher. He does this multiple times until the creature ceases all movement. With the fight over, and Nar's adrenaline giving way to intense pain he shambles back over to his campfire to check his supplies. He'd check the body in the morning. For now, he needed to focus on not bleeding to death.
