Just where even WAS Flyn? Would he ever be able to find her, and if he did, would they be able to get out of this place? Grounder could hardly think about looking for answers to his many questions. Not with his father berating him this whole time. He could see his father in every mirror now. Every segment of the wall, his father was there, always looking down on him. He was never good enough. He could never make his father proud, no matter how hard he worked. After what must have been hour of mindless wandering, Grounder's resolve finally cracks, and he stumbles to the ground, gasping, and silently sobbing in some sort of attempt to comfort himself. He can't stand to look up at the mirrors anymore, but for whatever reason, he forces himself to anyway. They're dark now. The voices are muffled, but he can still hear his sister's sobs underneath it all. "God Marriet! What the hell were you thinking?!" His father's angry voice causes Grounder to shiver. "It's best for the kids Flintlock!" A shrill voice replies. Oh Celestia no. Not this. Not again. "Best for the kids?! You whore! You can't even take care of yourself!" "It's my duty as their mother to do what's best for them! Not myself!" "Damnit Marriet! All you and those worthless shitstains do is ruin my life! You knew I never wanted kids, and you tricked me! You rotten bitch!" "You could have left at any time! I could have raised the children on my own! It's my calling!" "Like hell I could have left! Child Support would have left me homeless! The only reason I haven't left is because I'd be dead if I did!" "Then why don't you just do what's best for the-" A sliver of light peeks through the darkness. From beyond, Grounder sees his mother's face turn pale. "Flinty, wait-" He hears his father scream, followed by him smashing a glass bottle over his mother's head. She collapses to the floor, screaming. The carpet below her begins to turn red. No more... No more! Grounder lets out a desperate cry, and pounces to his feet. He grabs a loose rock from the floor below, and uses all of his might to chuck it at what little of his father he can see. He's going to kill him, no matter what it takes. He's going to kill his father, and save his mother from that monster. The sound of glass shattering echoes throughout the halls. For a moment Grounder covers his ears, as the sound is deafening. It takes him a few seconds, but after a while, the ringing in his ears subsides, and he opens his eyes. There, on the other side of the now shattered mirror sits his sister. "Flyn!" Grounder calls out as he reaches through the broken glass. For a moment, the two embrace in a hug. A loud, but low screech causes the two to break their embrace. Without a second thought, Grounder carefully pulls his sister through the opening, and places her on his back. Another low screech causes him to start off in a sprint. They needed to find a way out of here before whatever made that noise found them. #rp
