View MoreLarge crowds gather at the castle ground, upon the podium Knights general Autumn is directing guards and the citizens to their spots in preparation for the speech, the many thousands of different monsters are eager to hear what Knight has to say. The sounds of claws hitting the floor echo as the monsters quite, soon the large dark wolf appears on the podium and the monsters roar out. He watches them for a moment and smiles, lifting a paw he quiets them down. "As I look upon you my heart swells with pride, how far have you come Monros, how much have you achieved, how much farther will you progress and show me how amazing you can be?" he yells and the monsters roar out happily until he shushes them "I lost my sister many years ago, with her loss I lost my heart and soul, I spilled blood across the land to quell the agony in me yet no amount of blood could ease the pain of losing one so close, I closed my doors and left, i traveled to find answers yet only made more questions, I abandoned you and when I returned you did not shun me away, you grabbed me in your arms and dressed me royally and make me your king once more.. it is the love of you my children that eased the pain that tormented me so, only here with your smiles did I learn to smile again, your unwavering loyalty to an old fool like me saved me from the darkness," he says smiling genuinely "Long live the king! Long live the king!" the chants started, creatures roaring and some shedding tears of joy. He had to give them time to become silent in their excitement, then he sighs and frowns, "But all good times must come to an end," he says softly, "War has returned to the world," he says and they all start speaking amongst themselves, "And old friend of mine has lost her way and now is lost in the dark, in her anger she has destroyed tartarus and created an army of beasts that can rival any army," he says loudly "Their target.. is most likely the federation," he says and the monsters cheer, they cheer until they notice the frown on Knights face. "I will defend them," he says bluntly and they monsters look at him quietly, then burst into an angry uproar He lets them calm themselves until they quiet down. "Eight years ago, I had a vision, a vision to create a world where those like me, like us can live, can grow, can become more than we are and in that vision Monros was born, but I was accused, you were accused, ridiculed, mocked and attacked, for a long time we lived unsure if this vision was to come to pass and those who mocked us looked down upon us as if we were garbage... yet from the nothing of the desert we created an empire, we took on Equestrias strongest army and trampled it, and when the world turned against us we destroyed it, now we are those on top, we are the ones looking from on high, but let me ask you, will we be like them?" he asks and they all stare at him "Will we be honorless and mercilessly look from on high and watch them struggle as we did? Will we leave them to their fate as we were? No.. we have to be better," he says flying above them now "When they shunned us we must go to them, when they mocked us we must save them, and even when we liberate them from the jaws of the enemy and we are scarred, bruised and dead we will smile, because we are the strong, No more will we just be monsters, we will be legends, that generations from now when our children as where were we when tartarus attacked?" He questions and smiles "My sons and daughters will lift their heads in pride and say, my ancestors fought with honor for a country that hated him and fell the beasts of tartarus! There will be stories at camp fires and future wars told of the heroic deeds of the beasts of Monros who clashed with the beasts of tartarus and achieved glory through blood and sacrifice!" he yells and the crowd starts growling and stomping "What will you pass to your sons! What glories will your name hold a century from now! That when a powerful enemy invaded the ones who didnt understand us we watched as children would in a petty disagreement? No when the enemy invades what historians will say is that they clashed into Monronian shields! That when the beasts invaded and the world called for aid that Monros responded and met the enemy with hearts of steel and gave no quarter until the battle was won!" he says and the monsters started roaring in agreement. "Sharpen your blades and tighten your armor, Monros will march on the enemy and will usher in a new era that will be remembered for all time, the era of Monros! From our formation as an independant nation, to our successful defense from the murderous monrosian hoarde. We have defied all odds, time and time again, to show that we are ponies not to be reckoned with. Our industry, and our trade line are unmatched, and we carry the torch of harmony wherever we are, our banner of freedom and prosperity shining out among the darkness that has been taking its grip upon this world. From fending off a morally corrupt beast and his genocidal followers as a newly formed nation, to twisting his paw into restoring the state of the world, to rebuilding from the genocides he and his hoardes committed, a near impossible task, we have held. Not only held, but we have thrived. Our ingenuity and our bravery have kept this confederation safe and free." He took a breath. Ponies seemed invested in what he was saying. "But i am afraid there is terrible news my fellow ponies. No doubt there have been rumours, news articles, saying that tartaurus has fallen. And i am here to tell you now, that those rumours are true. A beast unrelated to the monrisians at the south of us, has broken in and has unleashed the hoarde of monsters therein. It is their goal, much like the monrosians during the war, to subjugate us, to kill your foals and fillies, to commit atrocities like that seen during the great war. They are likely heading here my fellow ponies, to attack this confederation, and war i am afraid is imminent and fast approaching. " there was hushed whispering among those in the crowd. "However. This should not scare you my fellow ponies. We have fought this once before, and won. We have been in far worse situations, and have persisted despite the odds! That being said, we need you to help us keep the threats of this nation at bay. The house has affirmed a draft, to ensure that we are safe. And should monrosian troops enter our borders, the treaty of appleloosa shall have been violated by the monrosians, and we shall once again, return to our former glory with the technologies and innovations that allowed us to become as strong as we were." He stood. "My fellow ponies. I additionally advise each of you to listen closely, and to evacuate if you need to. Even if we will hold them off, and win, it is better you stay safe and in shelter when you need it. Our nation harkens an era of peace and prosperity. And we have shown countless times that this idea, of a peaceful and prosperous world prevails above all. My fellow ponies. Soon we must fight, not for just the future of this nation, but for ponykind, to show them that this confederation is strong! That no matter what those violent creatures throw at us, we shall forever remain free and prosperous! So for these reasons, my fellow ponies, i ask you join me in our defense if this nation, and ensure a better future for everypony!" The press gobbled this up. Ponies seemed to be mostly convinced, Though doubt of another war, a d the comcerns of the destruction it may bring was still in their minds, memory of the great war still fresh in many minds. But the war hawks seemed mightily enthused.
