Darvaza is a red dragon, with five toed claws. He has two large horns on his head, pointing backwards much like the dragons shown on the show, or a traditional western dragon.

He's largely pragmatic, due to a general lack of consideration of the consequences of his actions on those other than himself, and can often be seen as selfish.A life dedicated to study has led him to collect more than gold and gems, but also trinkets and knowledge, scraps of forgotten civilizations, esoteric knowledge of forgotten fields of study, and minor baubles with no value outside of their antiquity. He isn't antisocial, but doesn't go out of his way to interact with others.
