Dusk never fit in anywhere else better than the small garden his mother had in their front yard as a colt. Many other colts thought him strange for lacking in the athletics department and Fillies didn't seem to want anything to do with a colt that loved such a girly thing. Many other colts thought him strange for lacking in the athletics department and Fillies didn't seem to want anything to do with a colt that loved such a girly thing. Despite being mostly ignored in school unless there was a group project, or he was in the way, Dusk was generally happy with this, as it gave him more time for his flowery obsession. One year, his mother had planted a peculiar looking seed in the garden, one that even she admittedly knew nothing about. Slowly as it grew with patients and water, Dusk made sketches of the flower in an attempt to find anyone who may know what it was. Once it had fully grown, but not bloomed, both Dusk and his mother were worried about it. Not just that it seemed like it wouldn't bloom, but because his mother had entered into the neighborhood lawn competition. This one flower went on to prevent them from taking first place, as it stood out to the judges, This didn't just disappoint Dusk, but haunted him in his dreams that night. Waking up in a cold sweat from a nightmare, dusk rushed out to the garden, expecting the flower to still be closed, and having his pinking sheers, he was ready to cut it's life short. He trotted up to it and readied the sheers but hesitated for a moment. He knew this wasn't like him, so instead, he found a watering can and gave it a bit more water. Just as he finished giving it some water, it bloomed, it's flower Large and almost giving off moon light rather than reflecting it. He was left breathless as he laid down in front of it, falling asleep as he basked in it's beauty. The next day his mother ran up to him angry that he had spent the night outside with a flower that would never bloom. That's when both she and the newly scared away Dusk saw his cutie mark. It was of the flower in full bloom. From that day he vowed to never kill a plan on perpous and to do everything in his power to document and care for every nocturnal flower he could. To this date, he's never won any growing competition due to the fact that they are never at night, in the moon light, but that doesn't stop him from entering in with Night Blooming flowers.
