Momento Mori's name is loosely translated from a Latin phrase meaning: "Remember that you will die." The purple flame of his cutie mark represents the flame within the lantern of Charon,the ferryman/boatman of Greek Mythology that carries souls across the river Styx. The black ribbon is silk, for the lining of coffins. Momento Mori is a quiet sort, preferring the company of gravestones to others. Though this does not mean he's not personable if he has to be. He is afterall Canterlot's Mortician, or Undertaker if you will, and has to frequently meet, greet, and comfort grieving ponies after losing loved ones. In his spare time he hooks himself up to a small work wagon and tends to the graveyards in and around Canterlot. Not much is known about Mori or where he came from. He appeared in town one day, not to be mysterious, but because he simply was looking for a job and ended up setting up shop in Canterlot. He adores Princess Celestia and always tries to attend any Celebration or appearance she has. It's not an obsession or a romantic love, but he admires her, and finds her charming. Okay once again, a Mortician, with basic handy man skills/gardening, and distinguished taster of teas and wine. He's a very silent flyer and has been described as seeming to 'teleport' from one place to another. He has an uncanny ability to understand one's intentions, though he's by no means psychic, he tends to give off that air. Despite being a Pegasus he's quite limber on his feet, and can also walk rather quietly, accidentally startling ponies without meaning to.
