Dusk is a tall alicorn stallion with a billowy black smoke like mane, his coat is a ashen black colored where there is a white strip from his snout to his horn which is ivory in color. Dusk height is roughly a foot taller then Celestia, his body is covered in scars from the lengthy war against the empress, his frame his built but is also thin as well. Dusk is often thinking and often planning even when there are no threats to his life, this could be from planning the next festival for his people or perhaps political items. Often calm and carefree when allowed, despite his intimidating appearance he is actually kind and generous. Detailed History

Prince Eclipse Dusk was born to the alicorn King Archon and Queen Nox, on the dusk of the kingdoms thousandth year during the summer at the capital castle in Neighnton. Eclipse was the youngest of his four siblings, the Princes Alistair Brave and Zephyr Breeze and the Princesses Snow Rose and Bright Thorn. Eclipse was the youngest of his four siblings, the Princes Alistair Brave and Zephyr Breeze and the Princesses Snow Rose and Bright Thorn. His name given to him as the sun was beginning to set into dusk as an eclipse occured, many did not know if this was an ill omen or a one to lead the kingdom into a greater future.

Alistair the eldest of the siblings and Dusk favorite sibling would often take him to the guards quarters to learn the art of swordplay and honor, something Dusk very deeply held to his heart. Zephyr the youngest of the four taught their youngest sibling how to read the winds and taught him courage by taking him high in the sky and freefall to the ground with a blind fold, taking care to make sure he was no injured. Snow taught him the value of life and kindness showing him how to care for the castle pets and with his help created the castle gardens opening it for all to visit. Thorn taught him humility, that even as a prince he should understand and care about the plight of even the lowest of citizens, this lesson would be taught by taking him out to the farm fields to help plow them or to help pick apples without the use of his magic.

For many years his father ruled the kingdom with a fair hoof and fairer laws, he would favor those who helped the kingdom and come down on those who troubled the kingdom. The Dukes were kept in check, the kingdom wealthy and its residents happy. However one pony was not content, the Queen herself felt that the royalty should have more control and greater wealth, these made her fall down a very dark path. One night she would poison her husband while he slept making him fall into a deathly coma, she played innocent crying and weeping over his dying body, the greatest medical minds of the kingdom could not find what was wrong with him. As the king laid dying the people began to worry, this is when the queen stepped up to take control of the kingdom, it was then she began passing laws of tyranny and fear.

The five siblings could not sit idly by as this happened, a plan was formed and enacted upon, the four eldest siblings would head to the cardinal directions to find a cure for their father. Dusk would remain behind to watch over his dying father ,however, a month passed and words of tragedy came. Soon the siblings came back but unliving, they had fallen to assassin's blades and had perished far from home. Eclipse unable to bear the tragedy of losing his siblings and fear of his mother, rounded those loyal to the king and spirited the dying king away to the mountians were the Diamond Dogs made their home.

The trek for the prince and his loyal ponies would be hard as they moved into the Ebony Mountains in search for a shaman who was said to have the greatest healing abilities in the world was to reside. As they made their trek they wouldfind themselves surrounded by the very Diamond Dogs they had sought. To prevent a fight and more death Dusk offered them a chance to live among the ponies and escape from the desolte mountains, many of the Diamond Dogs were skeptical of this offer and even flat out said he was lying. All but a few including a Diamond Dog name Silver, convincing his fellow Diamond Dogs to accept (some by force) they led him to their village and the Shaman the ponies had been searching for. Eclipse quickly pleaded with the Shaman to heal his father, but she could not, she told the young prince that it was a curse and not poision that weakened and killing his father. Eclipse could only watch in tears as his father, saying his farewell and love to his only living child passed from the realm of the living.

Anger and rage welled up in the young prince grieving, swearing death upon his mother and revenge for all she had done. But the shaman spoke to him, questioning whether the teachings of his siblings were for naught and would he just follow the same dark path his mother had. Eclipse still in grief heard these words, which stung worse in his heart, pondering what was said and what he had learned in his young life to this point he made a decision. He wouldn't fight for anger and revenge, he would fight for those who had lost their lives and for those still living under the tyranny of the new christened empress. Asking the Diamond Dogs if they would fight for a kingdom not their own and for a people they care naught for, one stood among them. The same who had convinced his brothers to lead the prince into the mountains, Silver rose up and said he would fight for the prince. Following him many others followed the brave hound into war. Many ponies would also flock to Eclipse's banner of war and soon a brave army rose to face against the empress and her cruel regime.

As the war waged Eclipse knew that this war would be nigh impossible without the support of the griffons. Traveling to their lands in the north he beseeched the nomad lords their in aid for his war, many would not accept his plead for aid until one suggest the trails. The trails were to select a central leader of the griffons who deemed where they would go and who got what lands. They had a rule however, no magic only the strength of his body and wings, to this the prince accepted and competed in the trails against the other griffon candidates. A grueling week passed, but to the griffons shock the prince rose among the others and proclaimed himself leader of the griffons. Many of the lords disputed this, until a young griffon by the name Blackfeather spoke up. Speaking of the lords of the past and how this prince, despite not being a griffon still rose to the challenge. At this point the other lords had stopped their arguing and agreed, they then pledged their full support of the their new prince.

Near the end of the war Eclipse sought out two remaining allies, the dragons and the deer. But he found naught but despair for them, the empress seeing the prince acquiring these allies had thought ahead. She corrupted the pools of lava the dragons would so often bath in, the corrupted lava would burn the dragons now forcing them to flee their long time home as their numbers dwindled from the unexpected corrutption and the dark storms the empress and created. The deer too lost the home in the Everfree as the empress had set the entire forest ablaze with dark magic to ensure the wild forest would never grow agian, Eclipse would put himself in harms way to save many of the deerfolk but they too lost a great many of their race. Eclipse offered them the Crystal Woods, the forest the king made weaving gem and magic into a forest many years ago. However Eclipse would gain one unexpected ally, Changlings, for their queen saw the empress rule as a weakness and challenged her dierctly only for her to be brutally murdered and her childen quelled. What was left came to Eclipse, seeing their race almost decimated and despite the consoul of his allies he accepted them into his fold only if they agreed to serve him as they did their late queen to which they accepted.

Allies gathered and soon Eclipse would lead his armies, alongside his long time friend and bound brother Silver, his Admiral Blackfeather and the long consul of his family Denda they arrived at Neighnton and laid siege. As the army made up of the three races waged the changelings that had infiltrated the city threw open the gates and the fight took to the city streets. Eclipse however had taken a different path, using the same set of passages he spirited his father away out on Eclipse had returned to the castle and confronted his darkened mother. No pony knows what happened within those castle walls that fateful day except those who were close to the prince himself, all they know when Eclipse emerged his eyes black and amber where previously blue and white, bloodied, bruised he rose to the castle balcony as the empire's army fell he claimed the kingdom, after a hundred years of war was free once more.
