Detailed History
Twilight Velvet (mom) got very sick about a week before the due date. Twilight Sparkle and Shining Armor got Princess Celestia's help, but the cure caused the baby (Harmony) to be born immediately. Harmony teleported herself to the Tree of Harmony, where she lived until she was old enough to go to Twilight for magic lessons. Twilight found quickly that this new student was her long-lost sister.
