Ninerah Novumane is a bat pony mare who, unlike all other bat ponies, doesn't have any wings. She stands slightly taller than the average stallion with freckles and mango shaded colored eyes. Ninerah was born into the Novumane family, of the south eastern town of Novumane. She, like her six other sisters, were never allowed outside of the family manor until they were deemed worthy by their parents. Brief history of her twenty years:

Being born into the Novumane family of the south east, Ninerah stood out amongst her six other siblings. She had many of the same traits as bat ponies, which her family purely consists of, and yet Ninerah was born without wings, nor was her eyesight at night as good as most bat ponies. Being the seventh daughter, and a "dud", as her family called her, Ninerah was often ridiculed and ignored by family and the staff of the Novumane manor.

Being the seventh daughter, and a "dud", as her family called her, Ninerah was often ridiculed and ignored by family and the staff of the Novumane manor.

Ages 1 - 5:

From the ages one to five, Ninerah was tutored by some of the most renowned professors in Equestria, but her inability to produce results quickly led to her education being cut short. By six years old, her siblings already knew the ins and outs of business, money and ettiquete. Ninerah, however, was unable to keep up with the unreasonable standards set by her genius sisters.

Ages 6 - 16:

The following ten years were no easier. Since her education was cut off much earlier then it should have been, Ninerah's only source of education was her families large and unkempt library. Nearly nobody ever used it, so it was where Ninerah spent most of her life in the manor. She taught herself to read, and write, as well as used the books of the library to educate herself. Despite the discrimination and resent her family had for her, and all the sleepless nights of being scolded and yelled at for being inadequate, Ninerah still believed that if she could educate herself, her parents and her siblings would recognize her worth, and begin to again include her in family activities. She was treated no better than the staff that worked the manor. Some would say she was treated even worse. She was forced to take care of herself entirely, and disallowed to attend dinner every night. Ninerah would often need to sneak into the kitchen to steal food for herself.

Ages: 16 - 17:

Just a short year later, Ninerah's hopes and ambitions were utterly crushed. The third daughter had married, and they were in need of a room. And so, by order of her parents, Ninerah's room, which she rarely used, was taked away from her. She wasn't even allowed to remove her belongings. Everything was thrown away, included some of her favorite, very rare items she had collected throughout the manor over the years. And the worse was yet to come. Upon discovering her room was taken away, she confronted her parents, only to immediately be dismissed. She was given a sum of 20,000 bits. Pocket change to the Novumane family, but a small fortune for most others. After recieving the money, which took the shape of a large and heavy satchel, Ninerah was kicked from the manor and told to never return. She was disowned.

Ages 19 - 20:

After a long and terrifying year, Ninerah had managed to keep herself above the water. She had taken what she learned from her lifetime in a library, and tried to live by the pages she had memorised. She didn't meet the Novumane families standard of intellect, but that didn't mean she wasn't a smart mare. Ninerah invested most of her available money into businesses in towns far from home, and upon stumbling on Hollow Shades, a town inhabited by other bat ponies, she chose to purchase a small, two room home on the outskirts of the town. She had adapted quite well in such a short time, and she even grew to enjoy her life. Between traveling around, learning about other cultures, trying foreign foods and collecting books and taking on the ocasional part time job to top up her spendable funds, Ninerah was happy. She is now twenty years old, and she is content.
