On the surface Fluttershy appears to be quite timid yet kind and understanding. She appears to be quite giving yet a tad bit socially anxious who much prefers to be around animals, having an easier time interacting and being more outgoing around them[animals]. Far off in an unknown land stood an adaptable yet traditional kirin village. Who's hierarchy was run by a head family who upheld good relations with other kirin village's by marrying off the head family's daughters and son's to neighboring villages. However this tradition would be broken when a daughter known as Flutterby Lily fell hopelessly in love that resulted in bearing a child out of wed-lock with a dragon. Who's hierarchy was run by a head family who upheld good relations with other kirin village's by marrying off the head family's daughters and son's to neighboring villages. However this tradition would be broken when a daughter known as Flutterby Lily fell hopelessly in love that resulted in bearing a child out of wed-lock with a dragon. The new mother's parents were quite displeased and gave Flutterby Lily an ultimatum, disown the child or be disowned herself. The mother chose the ladder option, for a while remaining in the village up until the gossip and ostracizing became too much. Leaving Flutterby Lily's wish for her child to have a good life leaves her with no choice but to leave the village who saw the child as evidence of Flutterby Lily's betrayal to tradition. Leaving with her child she traveled to many different lands. Her child named Meadow grew up seeing many many different sights, never staying in place for too long and being raised in what other ponies called a 'hippie' lifestyle. Which Meadow Brooke slightly resented her mom for, wanting more stability and not having the only consistent location being the cave that her father has been hibernating in ever since she was a filly. Despite this she had no resentment towards her father as she didn't have any memories of him outside of their visits every now and again. Her mother raised her the way she did to shelter and coddle her child. Meadow, looking back from her earliest memory of leaving the village of fellow kirin’s because of malicious intent and gazes from others, bled through to their life afterwards. Whenever they were being ostracized and gossiped over, her mother Flutterby Lily left town to town. Though now older she came to a realization that no matter where she went they would be judged because they were different.

It led to a slightly sheltered life that drove her to have a rebellious phase of running away from home from a mother who coddled and sheltered them from a world Flutterby Lily wished to present as all good. Hiding away the darkness that was the reality of it all. And finally she had enough, she wanted to be like other ponies. She wanted a stable home-life, to make long-lasting friends, to laugh and cry and feel other natural emotions that came with living. She ran away one last time, this time not looking back, she didn't want to just exist in a small bubble where her mother protected her from all that could do harm, she wanted to live. Despite her later regretting this decision, she never looked back and cowardly didn't want to face her mother after what she done.
