Design Description

Moon is a fairly tall unicorn with a pale purple coat, dotted with white patches, She has pastel blue eyes, and white patches in the shapes of stars underneath them. Her cutie mark shows the moon going from a full moon to a half moon, and spreads down her leg, surrounded by the dark night sky and tiny stars. Her mane is dark purple with a blue streak in it, and it falls loosely over her shoulders. She often wears gold jewellry.

Detailed History

Moon was born into an aristocratic family in Canterlot, with the assistance of a magical being known as Midnight who made a deal with Moon's parents that she would inhabit Moon's body once the mare reached the age of thirty. She grew up taught by the best teachers money could buy, and found herself fascinated by magic.So much so, that she enrolled in Celestia's school at a young age. View MoreMoon was born into an aristocratic family in Canterlot, with the assistance of a magical being known as Midnight who made a deal with Moon's parents that she would inhabit Moon's body once the mare reached the age of thirty. She grew up taught by the best teachers money could buy, and found herself fascinated by magic.So much so, that she enrolled in Celestia's school at a young age. Being taught by the Princess, it became clear that Moon was incredibly gifted in the magical arts, undoubtedly due to Midnight's intervention. As she became older, it was revealed that Moon was skilled in shadow magic, the line between light and dark magic.

By the age of twenty nine, Moon was aware of Midnight and determined not to be 'killed' by her. So she set out in search of immortality. And found it in the form of a druid who offered her eternal youth in exchange for help building a temple. Moon held her end of the deal and the druid held his, freezing her body in a state where it would not age at all. At discovering this, her parents threw her from their home and she continued to study whilst sleeping in the library.

When the time came to face Midnight, Moon battled her in magical combat and won, sealing the spirit in a crystal for what she guessed would be approximately four hundred years. Relieved, she continued her studying, until she came across the black book.

The black book was Sombra's spellbook, and Moon set out to find it. Trailing across the empire for days and nights, she found the book in a cave. Attempting to harness its powers, Moon researched and studied it closely at home, unaware of its destructive nature. As the dark magic severely damaged her body, the book whispered to her and distorted her view, convincing her that this was Celestia's fault. With her trust in her mentor gone, Moon retreated to the Everfree in an attempt to heal and plot her revenge.

In the end, she never took her revenge. She spent the following decades dashing from job to job. From singing to cage fighting to newspaper printing, she did it all. To this day, she is an irritable mare with an insatiable desire for alcohol and bottles full of rage.
