The story of Princess Nightwrath started with her ascension, formerly a unicorn, the new princess found herself surprised and confused at first, but she had no chance to take it slow, as the task, that she had ascended for, was still important and needed to be completed soon. The control of the moon.

That was her calling and the former unicorn had little time to adjust, as the celestial body needed to be moved and so she began what she was destined to do. Being a mare of honestly and compassion, she saught out to make sure the ponies of Equestria were safe and care for. Much like her mother, she worked in the night and walked the dreams of those having nightmares and during the day, she worked to improve relations or to improve on her skills as a princess.

The Dukes, The Duchesses and the Unicorn.

Not much is known about the new Princess Of The Night. Some say she was born from the flow of a midnight blossom, others say she was spit out by the darkness that once engulfed Princess Luna. Still, these were only tales. Much like all other life, she was born, born into a family of royals. They were once a strong and noble type, serving under the Princess Of The Night as Dukes and Duchesses. After Nightmare Moon was banished they were shunned because rumors had it that they had been the source of her dark powers. And while Princess Celestia knew it was not true, not all of her subjects believed in the rumors. And the most radical of her subjects began to hunt the bat ponies; they were driven away from their homes and no longer treated as equals.

The once noble ponies fled and many of their own left the family, they were left weakened. The remaining family members travelled to the cold north of Equestria where the town of Trottingham was founded. They had to rely on what the local wildlife and whatever they could plant and harvest.

Long after Luna’s return, they were still facing rejection, most of the families were dead, only a few smaller families were left.Princess Luna now had much fewer followers than before and it was up to her now to fix it. While Luna was welcomed with open arms and love by her subjects, it still left her the same—broken and alone as now it was the guilt of her own actions as Nightmare Moon that weighed on her heart. And not even the royal families of the Night Princess that served under her and showed gratitude could fill that hole in her heart; she was still feared and despised by ponies who remember her actions.

A long time passed and the year 1517 came about. The 31st day of the 10th month arrived and a pregnant mare sat with her husband on a bed, giving birth, a doctor and nurse working hard to help bring the unicorn mare a healthy and quick birth. An hour passed and the foal was had—but not at a cost, the mare’s blood loss was too big and she passed away moments later. “Y...you will b..be a strong m..mare for mommy...I..know this…” The mare managed to say to the foal in her embrace before she passed away. Her journey began where her mother’s ended and her father had to take the major role of raising his daughter without his wife. The father, a batpony, taught her all about the nobles of Luna and let her follow in his hoofsteps to become an influential noble to maybe bring pride back into the family. She worked for years, studying and practicing her magic, learning the arts of strategy and easily mastering the arts of war and weapon welding. And she showed promise, though she still had much more to learn but her father, Gleaming Night, soon had no more to teach her. He watched proudly when the day came Princess Luna to picked Nightwrath as the new Heir Of The Night Princess.
