Design Description

Appears as a typical gryphon, the only exceptions being the unique white unicorn horn on his forehead and his right wing. Early on in his story he got a scar on his right wing that made it unusable. Opting to use a self made dream conjured prosthetic instead when attempting to fly. It's appearence is that of a gold outline and creates a trail of stardust.

Before Princehood

He wore a gray/blue hooded cloak which is a practical traveler's cloak he purchased from Rarity. It's made of sturdy, water-resistant fabric in a muted slate gray with subtle blue highlights. It has a deep hood that can be pulled up to offer some anonymity or protection from the elements. It's well-made but unadorned, a piece of gear meant for utility rather than ceremony.

After Princehood.

The Crown of Daydreams. A circlet of woven, pearlescent dream-stuff and starlight, sometimes rested comfortably on his brow when needed but more often that not fastened to the collar of his regalia. Hoping it's not the first thing others notice. It glows with a soft, inner light that pulses in time with his heartbeat or the ambient magic of the Astral Sea. He wears a slim fitting royal regalia for important events. One that notably lacks any bells and whistles one might expect from a fancy dress. No tassles or frills. Just nebula inspired fabric with a pearlescent gorget.

Astral Gryphon Physiology.

They appear as gryphons while in Equestria, for the most part. Aside from a white unicorn type horn on their forehead. In the Sea of Dreams however they appear as in golden outline that shimmers with trails of stardust. Other species are documented to have this phenomenon happen as well when within the Sea of Dreams, though this is closer to how an Astral Gryphon's true form. They have a natural affinity to dream magic which is akin to conjuration. Willing things into existence of only temporarily. Astral Gryphons can be satiated by stories, lore, culture, and other fonts of knowledge. Even something like a simple apple they can gleam things from. Still proving to be a nice little snack! They can eat normally as well in a recreational sense, though they do not revieve as much benefit as other carbon based lifeforms do.

An inquestive and deeply caring soul who may not always find the right words. But means the best. When frustrated he'll usually keep quiet and rolls his eyes. Skills.

He is able to dreamwalk into the dreams of others, but is wise enough to know not to without permission. Opting to invite others to join him in his dreams instead. He ignores restless dreams, respecting that to be the domain of Princess Luna. Instead he focuses on catching people about to give up on a dream, usually while they daydream. Appearing in person looking to encouage others to give it a shot. Regardless if they fail to achieve it or not. Believing it will ultimately land them in a better place than when they first started. He really wants to causing someone to discover their cutie mark, considering that to be an incredible moment to witness.

Gryphon Clans Viewpoint.

Pre-Prince.

His experiences has lead him to beleive they view him as an outcast. His horn acting to alienate him from them. He spends a lot of time winning over Elder Garrow and his gryphon clan which has established a fragile treaty. He is considered clanless at this point in his story. Only Bishop and Kaelen share a lineage. (Or so he believes). The Astral Gryphons are spoke of in legends and fairytales.

As Prince.

Having cemented the alliance with the Cliff Racers and found his people. Most clans have taken the stance that they were abandoned by their fore fathers here on Equestria. Bishop is working hard to break that missconception. Since some clans have developed their own cultures, warrior, isolationist, or perhaps co-enhabit spaces with ponies. It's tricky. Since even other gryphon clans don't seem to see eye to eye with each other.

One of two sons to King Aurelius on the Astral Isle. Bishop and his brother Kaelen were sent into other realities at a very young age for their own protection. The circumstances of which are largely unknown through they were seperated and grew into very different lives. Bishop spent his time as a human in the Equestria Girls world while Kaelen grew up amoung the gryphons clans of Equestria. Bishop and his brother Kaelen were sent into other realities at a very young age for their own protection. The circumstances of which are largely unknown through they were seperated and grew into very different lives. Bishop spent his time as a human in the Equestria Girls world while Kaelen grew up amoung the gryphons clans of Equestria. With a cosmic threat that threatens all life forced the hand of the king to displace his own people and set himself and his inner circle to hibernation to avoid detection. An event they call "The Long Sleep". These displaced Astral Gryphons (In this non-cannon lore) would go on to become the gryphons Equestria has come to know after an eon of evolution losing most of the physiology noted within the Astral Gryphon Physiology section of the Physical Description.

Early Equestrian Years.

Having literally fallen into the picnic blanket of the Mane Six. With no recollection of who he was aside from the name Bishop he spent most of this time trying to figure himself out. Learning simple things like how to walk, leverage his talons to grab things, how to eat and drink. To the bigger things like learning to fly. Or learning about magic. After some time Kaelen (the brother he never knew he had) revealed himself to be the villian of this arc in his life. Having become an outcast due to his "deformity" from the Cliff Racer gryphon clan (The horn Kaelen processed as an Astral Gryphon) and using that anger to seek to conquer Equestria. Much of this point in the story is spent learning about Kaelen. Voyaging into the Sea of Dreams to rediscover himself. Discovering a prophecy to awaken the sleeping Astral Gryphons. Then defeating the real threat to the cosmos.

Later Equestrian Years.

Kaelen had... passed. Having had a change of heart right at the end as the cosmic being come to wreck havoc in Canterlot. The... whatever it was. Was trapped within the moon by Celestria herself with the aid of Bishop, the Mane Six, and other friends made along the way. It was a rough ride from him losing a sibling he barely knew. Using that energy to learn how to play the guitar and express that grief through music. He (along with his friends) awoke the Astral Gryphons. Fulfilling the prophecy and developing and understanding for what it means to be one. Eventually meeting his real father. Aurelius. Who stepped down from the throne, believing himself unfit to rule in his grief for his past actions. Leaving Bishop has his sucessor. Though still choosing to hold the title of Prince for those who insist on addressing him formally. To this day he is still trying to figure out what it means to be prince. Recently taken to inspiring others as mentioned in his Personality - Skills section. With recent developments being Starlight Glimmer making it her personal project to develop a two-way teleporter to the Astral Isle. Bridging the gap between the two dimentions for everypony! Allowing Tourism and trade.
