Sin Rush grew up in Haylabama, in a run-down little town where nothing ever really happened. She lived on the same street as Pepper Snap, but being two years older, they didn’t cross paths much at first. Sin had always been a bit of an outcast—not in a cool, mysterious way, but in a "ponies just kinda ignore me" way. She never had a real place she belonged, and she learned early on that if she wanted attention, she had to take it, whether that meant causing trouble or making herself the loudest one in the room.

Home life was… well, it wasn’t much of anything. Her parents barely paid attention to her, and her mom had a nasty habit of straight-up forgetting she existed. She’d get left at school all the time, waiting for a ride that never came, until a teacher or some friend’s parent took pity on her and dropped her off at home. But even home didn’t feel like home. If she cried, she was told to suck it up. If she asked for help, she was told to figure it out herself. So she did.

By high school, Sin had developed a sharp tongue and a thick skin, using humor as both armor and a weapon. She started making fun of ponies before they could make fun of her. At some point, she started picking on Pepper Snap too—just to get the attention off herself. But instead of getting mad or backing down, Pepper laughed. Not just a little chuckle, but full-on, cackling, insane laughter. Then she started firing back, roasting Sin right back with jokes so harsh that everypony thought they were about to throw hooves.

Instead, Sin just burst out laughing too.

From that moment on, they were a team. A force of chaos. The queens of pranks, insults, and general mayhem. They were the only ones who truly got each other, because they both had some pretty nasty flaws that made real friendships hard to keep. But together? They made sense.

When Sin was 20 and Pepper was 18, they decided there was nothing for them in Haylabama, so they packed up and moved to Califoalnia to chase their dreams. Pepper had the full support of her big, loving family—they cheered her on and kept in touch. Sin, on the other hoof, didn’t even say goodbye. She just left. Not like anypony would’ve noticed.

Life in Los Canterlés was wild. Sin landed a gig as a roadie for a band called Neon Altar, constantly on the move, hauling equipment, setting up shows, and soaking up the energy of the music scene. It was exhausting, but she lived for it. Meanwhile, Pepper hopped between odd jobs and eating contests, trying to find something she actually enjoyed. They didn’t see each other as much anymore, but when they did? It was like nothing had changed.

Sin doesn’t dwell on the past. She doesn’t talk about her family, doesn’t complain about how she grew up. She just keeps moving, keeps laughing, keeps doing. But deep down, maybe there’s still a part of her that wonders if she’ll ever stop running.
