Design Description

Wisteria has a short purple mane with a mid length tail, both fade to white with gold blonde braids at the base. Her hind legs have light markings halfway up, the tips of her feathers and muzzle have a light fade, and there’s a ripple pattern on her flank. Her hooves are a bright magenta and well kept. She also wears a green bandana with yellow dots that she inherited from her father.

A bit scatterbrained and easily excited, Wisteria is a loyal pony but the definition of ADHD. She’s innately kind and will offer a hoof to anyone who needs on.

Detailed History

Wisteria Winds was born to a pegasus mare named West Winds and an earth stallion named Floral Grove. She is an only child primarily raise by West after Grove died in a land slide. She’d listened intently as her mother smiled fondly at the only tree within this portion of the gardens. Giggled as her mom told her about being literally stuck to Grove for days and their struggle to separate led them to falling in love. West would joke about how Grove would sometime stick some sap in a locket to use like cologne just to get her attention because the smell immediately brought back those memories. The two would often laugh about how sticky his hooves were when he did this and often put a rain check on date night of make gifts difficult to unwrap. Wisteria saw a sad smile on her mother’s face every time she told this story and it left her wanting to do something for the mare.

After meeting a perfumer who was visiting the garden one sunny afternoon, Wisteria threw herself into trying to make a scent that would bring her father’s memory back to her mother without the unbearable stickiness of the sap. It took her a while, and her obsession with making the perfume in total secret led to a fight with her mother. Wisteria wanted to surprise West the way her father had but in the end broke into tears as she confessed about her activities and the many subsequent failures.

She cried hard into her mother’s shoulder about how all she wanted to bring her dad back in this little way but she couldn’t do it. West held her tightly and ei how much she loved her daughter. She encouraged Wisteria to keep trying if that’s what she wanted, but only if she really wanted to. The mare didn’t enjoy seeing her filly struggle for something being done for her sake alone. Wisteria insisted she wanted to finish the scent. She said it was fun but she was afraid she would never be able to make something worth giving to West. West held her tight and insisted that no matter what, she’d love anything given by the little pegasus.

Wisteria went on to spend the next several days focusing on making the perfume, her mother occasionally popping in with food or to make her go to bed, but she finally managed to make something she felt was presentable. She spritzed the perfume in the air to test it and smiled with tears in her eyes. She done it. She’d made a perfume that brought the same warmth her dad always carried.

Wisteria ran to her mother and launched into the mares hooves with her glory held in a bottle. She babbled on so excited to show her mom that she almost missed her mother trying to tell her something. Wisteria looked down to see that she’d gotten her cutie mark some time in her personal chaos. Two wisteria clusters on a branch seemingly caught in a breeze. Flowers that grew with a soft but strong scent that could be smelled from afar like a perfume.

The two pegasus celebrated that night and West later opened up a small shop in the gardens where Wisteria sold her homemade scents until she felt ready to explore the world the way her parents had. Maybe she would find new plants to make into perfumes and make friends alone the way.
