Arold.
A name that many will never know. A name that has lost itself in the sands of moving time. A name that use to have meaning, only to be left behind in shame.
Arold is a name attached towards the roots of Arcane magic. Held by the genius of a unicorn in the ancient times where the Dark Kingdom was thriving. Arold was a stallion unlike other stallions. A skilled magician that rivaled most wizards of his time. Arold was a proud stallion Believed himself to be a blessing upon the amazing world we shared. And with proudness toward oneself comes an uncomfortable trait.
Arrogance.
Arold was a stallion that took things for granted. Since birth he was gifted with a unique talent. A full understanding and manipulation of the Arcane arts. So much so that his family had been hired into the services of the Dark ruler known as Somber. And in this service, Arold was at his highest. Arold, the Apprentice of Lord Somber. The Apprentice of.....A Monster.
Arold was a patient stallion. Always watching and observing. Quiet, but not so much that it was odd. He was a quick learner. A fast mind. His diligence to the Dark Lord had granted him a many of privileges. A viewpoint of respect in the eyed of others. Twelve beautiful wives. And up to three children between three. All this due to his status as well as his mindset. And yet, with all this success? It was never enough.
It would never be enough.
Arold was a smart stallion. A genius as some would dare to describe. He understood what his value was to the Tyrant he served. He understood the truth of his position from the very beginning of his service. He was nothing more then a pawn. An insect. A useful insect. But an insect nonetheless. Arold knew this was how the Dark Lord viewed him. Him and his family. Him and all the citizens. And the more time had passed? The more Arold became obsessed with this thought process. Why was he viewed a mere insect? A stallion as powerful as him? What deemed this Monster to rule over all in his kingdom? What makes him the so called Lord of Darkness? No. Arold knew what must be done. He had known for quite some time! Somber must fall. Somber will fall. And it will be by Arold's hooves. Months and months were spent in finding a strategy into stopping the Dark Lord. And soon? A plan was created. A flawless plan that would soon cause the downfall of Somber. And upon that downfall, the rise of a new Lord of Darkness would appear.
But.....even if a plan is flawless doesn't mean it could ever be executed to perfection.
With the bodies of his wives and children surrounding Arold, lifeless? Arold was struck with a sense of reality. Sometimes.....even the most foolproof of plans can backfire. And sometimes that backfire can be the most damaging of anything imaginable...
Arold. The arrogant apprentice. Brought into the world as a blessing, soon turned into a curse.
His body was killed and his very soul had been separated as punishment.
His soul will now forever live in a haunting prison. A unescapable place.
His soul will now and forever haunt the bloodline of Lord Somber. Forever and always a Spirit.
Arold.....was no longer a living being.
