Detailed History

Bloom was born in a time when the crystal empire was in its prime. She seemed to have the perfect life. Loving parents, high ranking father, a nice house, and every year after her birthday the crystal fair would come back to the empire. In her foal years, life remained this perfect. Loving parents, high ranking father, a nice house, and every year after her birthday the crystal fair would come back to the empire. In her foal years, life remained this perfect. She acquired her cutiemark, and began to play with flowers instead of other ponies. But it was when she began to mature that the empire started to take turns for the worst. Crime began to appear all around the empire, farmers would steal from farmers or sabotage crops for more profits. Poverty and terrible crimes, the likes Equestria hadn't seen for centuries. Public trials and executions became a daily sight and the crystal fair became nothing but a tale in a book. Her father was promoted to Thane to protect the town from evil doers. Bloom spent her teen years getting arrested for speaking out at trials about fair trails and ponies being wrongfully accused. Thanks to her father's status she was let out every single time. Then it happened, Sombra invaded out of nowhere. The sky turned orange, the crystals around and throughout the empire turned pitch black and ponies disappeared left and right. Bloom's parents were both captured and enslaved. Her father was tortured and brainwashed into the head of Sombra's dark army. He then captured Bloom personally. Bloom was forced to use her talents and body for the personal amusement of the king for 3 years. Towards the end of the third year, Sombra was defeated by a brave stallion and the power of the two unknown alicorns. They banished him deep into the frozen north. That's when it all went dark.

To what seemed like a day later, the empire suddenly returned, Bloom awoke in the palace to see the crystals had returned to normal, but with minimal memory of what occurred before Sombra's rule. She wandered the streets trying to just locate her own home. Her ears perked up hearing that there was to be a crystal fair. Memories flooded her mind as if the fair was a keyword that just brought back feelings of great joy. She quickly galloped to her home to find it empty. Her ears flopped down when she didn't find her parents inside waiting for her. She reassured herself with the prospect that they must be at the fair. She spent her whole day at the fair, noticing that this time there were ponies that seemed out of place. The 6 seemed to know what they were doing alongside their small dragon friend. Later in the day the blue sky seemed to disappear and become orange once more, reminding her of a time she wished to forget. In a blind panic she galloped to the palace to power the crystal heart as if an automatic response. Many crystal ponies surrounded her as well, desperate to avoid enslavement. Only to discover that the heart in the center to be a fake. Sombra had begun to retake the empire, ponies were in a blind panic crowding the foreigners begging for the heart to be returned. It was then that a small dragon appeared towards the top of the palace, in his claws the Crystal heart. He tumbled towards the ground and Sombra rushed towards him to reclaim his victory. Just then a pink alicorn rushed in and snagged the heart and the dragon, putting it back into place. She gave a speech to reinvigorate her people just as the queen once did in times of need. Bloom quickly bowed to share her light and love; the heart was soon activated and blasted the empire with its protective powers. Sombra was defeated once again and peace returned to the empire.

After all of the chaos of the attack had died down, Bloom returned to her Father's home to still find it empty. Distressed she devoted the next year to trying to find any shred of information that her parents were alive but to no avail. During that year, every night she would have nightmares of the horrors she endured under Sombra's rule. She couldn't take it anymore and sought to leave the past behind her so once she heard of trains leaving the empire she took one to get as far as possible, tricking herself into believing that she was just going on vacation. Little did she know, that vacation would change her life forever. When she arrived in Trottingham, she decided to take a walk through town to see how the world had changed. That's when she bumped into a handsome stallion named Ratchet Wrench. Ratchet, seeing as the she was down on her luck, he offered her a job at his shop and a place to stay in his home. The two quickly fell for each other and decided to start dating. They lived together happily for a few months falling more and more in love. When Ratchet found out that Bloom's parents were missing, he insisted on going back to the Empire with her to search for them. Ratchet met up with his old friend Shining when they got there and got permission for Bloom to search the archives for any clues as to what happened to her parents during Sombra's reign. While they searched for clues, Ratchet was asked by Cadence to move his Armoring and Weapon Smith business to the Empire by Cadence as the Empire was desperate for quality armor and weapons. Ratchet agreed and he and Bloom made the Empire their permanent home, even going through the trouble of having his house moved there, piece by piece, so they could still live in it.

Ratchet and Bloom got married in the midst of Bloom's search through the archives for her parents and it wasn't long into their marriage that Bloom found evidence that her parents were not missing but were exciled to the outer rim of the empire. Bloom quickly headed towards where the archive stated her parents should be. Much to her surprised she found her parents all together. She was ecstatic introducing her husband to her parents. Bloom and Ratchet’s love cultivated into the birth of their daughter; Crescent Flower. She was given the Flower last name as it held such great respect in the empire. Crescent took after her father, wanting to become a hero just like her dad. She always played in armor shop or spent time messing up Bloom’s garden, putting the contents into bottles. After a few years of marriage, Ratchet and Bloom sadly began to grow a bit distant in their relationship, the two eventually decided that it would be best of the both of them if they returned to being friends and separated. Bloom returned to the empire to raise her daughter with the help of her father and mother. Bloom moved back into his home for a while but within the next two years she had enough crystal bits to buy a lovely home to raise Crescent in, with a small backyard to have her garden in.

She had fallen into a nice routine until she met Thicket during one of the Crystal Fairs. The two hit it off immediately, becoming great friends and after a few date they decided to maybe try being together. Crescent accepted Thicket as a step-father but she still saw Ratchet as the only father she really needed and saw Thicket more as a friend but for Bloom she had found another companion to walk with her on the path of life. The two spent quite a few years together as their love grew and grew. Their love even produced two lovely crystal deer hybrids; Maple and Polaris. The family was the picture of a perfect happy family. They would go on trips to white tail forest every summer to rekindle their love and be connected with nature. Maple grew up to be a fine doe; starting the Crystal Forest National Park Rangers, Polaris joining the construction team in charge of development in the crystal Empire. Unfortunately their love was not to last, as if a curse placed on Bloom had once again reared its ugly head. Thicket and Bloom slowly began to drift apart, the flower of their love begin to show signs of wilting. The two wanted to fix their relationship but it was not to be. Thicket and Bloom eventually splitting. The two children were split between both parents, not wanting to be separated, Polaris left with his father to ensure that he was never alone. While Maple chose to stay with Bloom, to continue to protect the forest. Bloom was once again trying to find meaning to living, while supporting her two children. She found solace in her work as a florist, opening the Flower family emporium. The flower shop showcased the many exotic flowers of the empire while also providing the best honey in the empire as harvested by her mother.

That was her existence, day to day. Once again falling into a nice routine, till fate would have it a stallion from Equestria would cross her path. His name was Moonlit Charm, and the two has such lovely chemistry. He was loving and fell head over hoof for the mare. It took time but eventually he asked for her hoof. Bloom was hesitant because she had two mates prior to him and was worried this would end the same way for her, though eventually she accepted his proposal and the two's love forged a lovely little filly named Lily. As all things in her life, they were short lived. She found that the two were once again drifting apart. Heart stricken with loneliness she let Moonlit go, fear driving her from him. Perhaps she didnt deserve to be with another. Perhaps her soul was meant to stay alone. Now dedicated to her shop, she plans to travel away from the empire to find exotic seeds. Though the true intention is to perhaps find something to make her flower of inspiration bloom once more.
