I am a literate roleplayer with 12 years of experience. Don't expect anything amazing though, I am a pretty average writer! I like to go multi-paragraph but I can work with short replies most of the time. Planned plots are the easiest for me to work with. We don't need every little detail to be written out ahead of time but a general idea of where the story is going always helps me write.

Design Description

Bookworm is half pony and half changeling and this is clear upon a first glance. Her horn is tall and imperfect. Her legs have holes in them no matter how much love she receives. Her wings are partially transparent and not the best for flight. Though her teeth are mostly flat, a pair of fangs often stick out from under her top lip.

Her hair is long and red, somtimes tied up but usually just trailing around behind her.

Though she does best with glasses she doesn't always wear them.

Detailed Personality

Bookworm is obsessed with her studies and does not let anypony or anything get in the way of them. Her social skills tend to be a little... off because of this. However she is very friendly and does enjoy the company of others. They just can't distract her from her notes.

Her friends and family are often subjected to her long rants on the history of magic and the direction of her research. Anypony who consideres themselves her friend are likely used to this and accept it as part of her.

Detailed History

Bookworm doesn't know who her biological parents are and that doesn't bother her. The first ponies she can remember are her adoptive mothers. They found her on their doorstep one morning and after a short debate, decided to keep her. She is only months younger than the daughter they already had and they grew up together in a happy home.

They found her on their doorstep one morning and after a short debate, decided to keep her. She is only months younger than the daughter they already had and they grew up together in a happy home.

Her unicorn parents taught her the basics of magic and she and Daybreak caught on quickly. It was not long before she discovered her changeling gifts and enjoyed turning into a copy of her sister to annoy her parents. While her disguises are always perfect she never quite was able to change her voice.

This lead to her giving herself a 'normal' ponysona when she was old enough for school. Both she and her sister were granted admission to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. Terrified that other ponies would single her out for not being quite a unicorn she would use her magic to hide her changeling features. This lasted much longer than her family expected and she was able to keep it up with little effort.

Eventually the illusion broke. The day she snuck off to read a book of spells higher than her current level was the day she discovered her cutie mark. Hiding in an empty classroom she attempted a teleportation spell to bring herself to the front of the cafeteria to show off. Unfortunately this resulted in her teleporting everyone in the cafeteria to her instead. The amount of magic it took exhausted her and took away her disguise in front of half the school (who were not pleased to suddenly be in a classroom).

Daybreak rushed to defend her sister but a teacher who had been dragged along simply laughed as he pointed out Bookworm's new cutie mark. Her skill with magic was impressive enough even without her not being a true unicorn and as long as she helped clean up her mess she was in no trouble.

Though she would sometimes deal with rude comments most ponies respected her and she was often invited to study groups as her knowledge of stronger spells grew. Along with this was an interest and passion for magic. Not just the casting, but the ins and outs of how it worked. Where it came from, and why not everypony could wield it the same.

Now a young adult she has takes herself with learning everything she can about the workings of magic. This means traveling Equestria to hunt down obscure magical trinkets and ancient stories of forgotten spells.
