Defined raised an eyebrow as he heard the alarm 'huh the princess being taken to somewhere safe...guess things are bad.' He nodded quickly and then gained a wicked smile "Oh yes Celestia...and hopefully my certain set of...skills are exactly what you need!" He then looked to the guards and exclaimed Just tell me where I need to go!"

Orion eeps and gets out of his hiding spot quickly, and pulls his sword out, again obviously not listening to orders. He Watched the guards and any of the army he could see, and gets himself ready for the fight that could reach him soon.

As Star Catcher ascended to the sky, she found herself being intercepted by the armored Pegasi guards. Their spears were in her way to prevent her from moving any further into the sky. A larger Pegasus made his way over to Star as he said in a serious and booming tone, "Just where do you think you are going, citizen? Are you aware that a sieging army is on its way over here!? We have only minutes to finish our defences. I suggest you get back down to the surface and reach a safe area with the rest of the ponies."

This Pegasus stared her down with eyes intense and tired as the guard had no time to deal with stray citizens with a possible battle coming up.

Orion would fare no better as the stampeding crowd of refugee ponies would make it hard for the poor pony to be able to make his way towards the gate. It didn't help that Unicorn guards would be waiting at the end of this crowd to push any stray citizens back.

The Contingent of Guards looked at Defined as if he were crazy before one simply nods and motions for the group to go. The group would move out and expected Defined to follow them to the gates as they would make their way past hungry and tired refugees who attempted to find a safe place to wait out the siege.

"Pretty brave of you to say, but there's a time for bravery and there's a time that protocol must be followed. Allowing a random pony to fight because they think their tough isn't the way this military works." The Unicorn said quietly before turning away and motioning for his troops to follow him.

Defined did indeed follow the guards with a calm smile on his face, but as he saw the refugees he frowned a little as he said "This world seems to be a sad place..." He wasn't talking to anything specificly, he was mainly talking to himself. He would then look to the guards he was following and asked "So who is exactly attacking? And what are they weak against?"

Orion would find that he would reach the gate rather easily more so because he was teleported to the gate. Standing in front of him would be the Unicorn wearing grey armor. This was obviously a pony in charge as the said Unicorn looked at Orion with a serious look. He then said, "You must have a death wish. With the way you were looking at that sword, one could almost assume you have an intention of fighting."

A guard spoke up and said, "We are fighting those damned beasts, dangerous critters those ones are! We have no discernable weakness we can exploit for now except that Pegasi and Unicorns are practically the only ones that have a chance of hurting them. Simply, dodge and be fast or stay far, those beasts are strong up close."

The mare hadn't made it more than a few feet into the air when a number of armored ponies swooped down to the ground, intercepting her midflight, numerous pointed weapons positioned in a manner designed to box her in and prevent further motion. Her ears pinned back as one stallion, a rather burly-looking fellow, made his way down to her, barking orders.

The mare blinked once, awestruck. An attack? Then - these ponies were refugees. Star had many questions, but even without her special talent it was clear that the ponies in uniform had much more pressing matters than answering her questions. For now, she'd have to keep her head down, at least until she could figure out why she had been brought here. The mare glanced down, lowering herself down to a nearby alleyway where the stampede of ponies were not, watching the pegasi above. These pegasi were much bigger than she was used to - clearly these were not Butterfly Island pegasi - but their wingspans were no bigger than those of her people.

"Stay safe." she spoke, her ears perking up as she glanced at the retreating horde of ponies, guards on the ground rushing feverishly to keep the crowd under control. The mare frowned, and followed behind. First things first, she needed answers, preferably from someone at liberty to afford her the time of day.

He nodded a bit as he listened to the guard. "Thanks for the info and thanks for letting me fight. I'll try my best to not let anyone down." He slowly turns to the army and gets himself ready again, preparing for whatever is thrown at him.

The Unicorn Captain wiuld stop Orion and said, "Who said you were going to fight in this battle? Last I checked, you are not a registered soldier in the Equestrian Army, retreat back with the rest of the citizens or I will have to arrest you on the grounds of interfering with organized equestrian military business."

Star Catcher found that the crowd were being tended to by a group of robed ponies. They seemed to be carrying books strapped to the sides of their robes as each were Unicorns. They seemed to be caretenders and healers as they provided healing spells to the unfortunate as well as prayers and food. Maybe she could ask one for what was going on?

There would be one near Star that was reading a verse from their book to children to help calm them down from the yells of soldiers who gained reports that the enemies were now coming out of the woods and towards the city.

One guard looked at Defined and said to him, "Depends on who it is. While most are mindless and feral, others seem to be thinkers and even outsmarted most of our scouts when we attempt to evaluate them. Careful, those beasts are full of surprises."

He sighed and says "No one said I was going to fight in the battle, but I refuse to run away with them, especially since I know that I could be capable of helping with this fight. Registered, or not. And if I'd interfere, I'm sorry, but I don't want to stand and watch."

The mare followed close behind, scared and confused as she had been this entire time, but even in these trying times, it warmed her heart just a bit to see ponies congregating to care for and protect one another. She could see that the robed ponies were tending to those who had been trampled underhoof, but because their backs were turned, she could not see the horns.

Slowly she walked through the small shelter that the group of ponies had taken refuge in, the mare trembling with each step. These ponies were hurt. Scared. The young, and those who didn't care what others thought about their personal image, wept openly. It made the mare sick to her stomach to not immediately dart to help, but she knew that to act without thinking, in what she had already to be discovered to be the site for an imminent battle, would get her killed.

"Excuse me..." she spoke, glancing to the mare reading to the foals, her ears pinning back as she stared at the mare - or, more specifically, her horn, her expression locked in terror as she observed the point upon the mare's head.

A Horned One. Stunned, her eyes darted about the other ponies, only now noticing other ponies. Many of them were also Horned Ones; significantly less had no horns or wings. Many of the pegasi refugees were young; were the parents involved in the fighting, or were they elsewhere? Did they leave foals like this to fend for themselves at a young age?

The mare whimpered, her ears pinning back as she focused back on the robed unicorn in front of her, the out-of-place mare trying her hardest not to stare at the horn that extruded atop her skull.

The Unicorn turned back and looked at Orion quietly before saying, "Guard the refugees. If our line falls then it will be up to you to make sure that no harm comes to the noncombatants and citizens. As long as there are free ponies, there is hope."

The hooded unicorn mare looked at Star Catcher with a quizzical look before quietly levitating up a bowl of warm soup that was being passed around. "Poor dear, you look about ready to faint. Calm down and eat some soup, Maybe listen to a story with some of these foals."

Defined hummed as he thought out loud "Perhaps we should kill the smart ones then let the disorganization take hold possibly." He shrugged silently as his home glowed a light but dark red, soon a small amount of mist flowed into which Defined followed with a soft sigh

The large pegasus nodded slowly, the mare glancing about the room at the other groups of ponies that had melded together into little congregations; each of them had at least one such robed pony in common. Cautiously she nudged herself forward, setting herself down into the small congregation as she stared down at the soup that had been poured into a bowl and laid out for her.

From smell alone, the mare knew all too well she couldn't recognize the herbs. After all, where she came from, herbs like this didn't exactly exist, leaving fruits and the occasional fish as the majority of her diet growing up. Nonetheless, a quick glance around the area showed multiple ponies eating from the bowls, so any pretense that the soup was poisoned was a false notion. She watched as some of the ponies ate - or rather, watched as most of the unicorns' bowls began to glow different colors and lift up to their lips. Her ear flicked, and she glanced back down at the soup, her hooves setting upon the bowl for just a moment before quickly flinching back, hooves now a bit tender from the heat.

"Sorry - just... are you alright? Does it hurt?" she asked, her eyes slowly trailing up to the horn. "N-No, that's not right, I mean... how are you doing that... that *thing* with the lifting objects without hooves?" she questioned, glancing off to the side as intuition told her she had just asked something generally considered common knowledge among ponies here.

The robed pony would tilt her head a bit confused by the question at first before nodding and saying, "Ah, that is simply my magic. Do not worry, The bowl doesn't bite." The robed pony even chuckled a bit at that last part to lighten the mood nefore saying, "You seem quite nervous, is there a problem? Or are you worried for your loved ones? If the latter is the case, know that the soldiers out there are always making sure each pony gets out alive. You have no need to worry about. I'm sure that under the forgiving light of Celestia, they will be fine." The hooded pony then began to levitate another bowl of soup and began to feed the foals some soup.

The Unicorn simply pointed in the direction of the shelter and said to Orion, "Head that way, there you will find the Mystics of Celestia, a holy order dedicated to the teachings of the Sun and practice their holy and charitable tenants."
