I do believe if you have already sent a boop the user has the option to boop you back regardless of your settings. In other words, remove the boop from your list of boops instead of booping back and you should be fine. I could be wrong though and it might just be as Drizzy said; you didn't save it. ... View More

Oh I see the issue. So turning that off makes it so they can’t boop you from your profile. But at least on mobile if you scroll down to the bottom of the page you can still boop someone back from the boops section.
