tbf, things like 'Robin Hood' and 'Max & Ruby' have been around for a while. Perhaps they didn't ask us to *draw* ourselves as an animal but they were still pretty influential imo.
There was also Clifford and Arthur and Warrior Cats ^^ Fuck... it's no wonder I turned out to be a furry >.>

Don't forget most millennials grew up in a mascot branding era. Pretty sure Disney and Cartoon Network shows had 80% of their content had shows based around antrhomorphic characters. You'd be surprised to see if you researched their schedules back in the 90s
