Practice more perspective, that's best done with actual pencil and paper and rulers. Eventually you'll be able to "bullshit it" well enough by eyeballing it.

Still, pencin and pen are a powerful tool, even for doing reference sheets. The temporal lack of modern trinkets shouldn't hinder your ability to do it.
