realistically people will *say* "YES I WOULD ADOPT A DEFORMED ANIMAL IN A HEARTBEAT!!!" but when faced with an equal match, an animal that is 100% normal, more often than not they'll just pick the normal animal lol

Im going to be honest. When I worked at the animal hospital, almost EVERY adult or deformed/defected animal that were put up for adoption never got adopted. Occasionally you have happy endings, but for most animals they aren't that lucky.
