Detailed History

His parents were Gallifreyan Time Lords. His mother, Ryala, was a scientist in biology and temporal mechanics. The concept of regenerating interested her greatly. Given that Time Lords always change their appearance when they regenerate, she wanted to see if it was possible for a Time Lord to keep his/her base appearance, thus only changing the appearance in age. His mother, Ryala, was a scientist in biology and temporal mechanics. The concept of regenerating interested her greatly. Given that Time Lords always change their appearance when they regenerate, she wanted to see if it was possible for a Time Lord to keep his/her base appearance, thus only changing the appearance in age. In "Project Constant," she did several genetics experiments by computer, and after several successful scenarios, she applied the genetic applications to Constant before he was born. However, when the Gallifreyan government and the Time Lord council saw the results, they told her to cease her experiments immediately. Therefore, Constant would be the first and last Time Lord to regenerate in the way she envisioned.

His parents wanted him to continue the legacy of studying and applying in the biological sciences, but he wanted to go his own way. He decided to study engineering and temporal mechanics, and with his education completed, the Time Lords accepted him as a temporal agent, allowing him to watch the time stream and apply his engineering skills on the sidelines.

When the Time War broke out, his home town was destroyed by a Dalek garrison, and his entire immediate family was lost in the attack. When he found their remains during the rescue operation afterwards, he felt incomplete, but he triednot to let it interfere with his duties.

Later, he was drafted to fight in the front lines, and toward the very end of the war, his squadron was recalled to the Time Lord central command, where he and his group were given the key to a top secret time ship which was locked away. After they found it, they started to fly it away from the war zone disguised as a rocket. However, when Gallifrey was wiped out of existence, the shockwave caused a major power surge, killing all of his squadron, save him.

When he saw what happened to his home planet through visual records, Constant was devastated. After considering his fate carefully, he decided to travel the universe and watch the time stream. Naming the time ship "Monitor", he set probes out so the job would be easier. Six relative years later, the Monitor hit a spatial scission, causing him and his time ship to cross over into the MLP universe.

Low on power, the Monitor crashed on Earth
