Odette

[Design Inspiration]

In terms of looks, Odette is a decent mixture of her father and mother, although she received her more 'swan and goose-like' features from her mother, given her swan-quese face markings, and her goose marking and shaped wings. It was partly a joke on Discord's part, as he often teased Celestia by calling her a 'graceful swan' whenever she laughed, and a 'noisy goose' whenever she got upset (as Celestia's hard laughs and annoyance 'snorts' sounded more-so like swan and geese 'honks'). Needless to say, this joke now haunts her due to Odette's appearance.

Odette has nine different animals involved in her design, in comparison to Discord's eleven. Her Head Shape and Frontal Horn were taken from your Traditional Unicorn (taken from Celestia's genes), with the Mute Swan inspired her Face Patterning and the Main Color of her Upper Half of her Body. Her Wings were taken from the Orinoco Goose, while her Tail Feathers were taken from the Eastern Kingbird. Her Neck Fur and Arms were inspired by a Polar Bear. Her Hind Legs and Secondary Body Colors were inspired by an Okapi, while her Tail and Tail Tip were taken from a Piebald Python and a Rattlesnake, respectfully. Lastly, a Gazelle was used for her Draconequus Horns and her Ears.

Her design is slightly more cohesive and symmetrical due to Celestia's Alicorn genes. Her Blue Eyes, Purple Pupils, and Rainbow Hair are remnants of her genes as well.

On the other hand, her Sole Fang and her Creamy-Colored Sclera are from Discord's genes, respectfully.

When using her Alicorn or her Standard Unicorn Magic, her horn lights up like other ponies' horns do. However, instead of just her Frontal Horn lighting up, her Gazelle horns light up as well. Her magic color is [tba]. Her horns do not glow when using her Chaos Magic.

In terms of personality, Odette is very similar to her father. She enjoys being generally silly, causing mischief, playing pranks, and all-around goofing off. However, unlike her father, she does it for positive purposes, such as to make those around her laugh and feel good. She feeds off happiness; the happier those around her are, the happier she is. She's overly expressive, often known to be a 'flail-er', as she expresses herself with her body more than anything. She has no concept of personal space, constantly invading it even when others have asked her not to. She also has a tendency to make strange sounds, especially when straining or screaming. Even more so if she's startled. Shouting is practically a part of her being, at this point.

Odette's also known to have a slight rebellious spirit when it comes to authority. If you're a guard telling her not to go into that room over there, you can bet your sweet tail she's going to go into that room over there. Despite hating her lifestyle as a Princess, she often uses the title as an excuse to get away with things. To which she is usually scolded for by her mother.

It's also known that Odette can be extremely sarcastic. Almost to the point where it can be offensive. She doesn't try to be offensive, it just comes off that way. She mostly uses sarcasm as satire, although it usually doesn't work. Her humor can be a bit dry, and random at times. She's known to use her sarcasm on herself as well, seeing as how she's such a klutz. It's apparently an on running thing that her klutziness constantly gets her crown broken. Despite the fact that she could fix her crown by herself with her magic, she refuses to, which instead causes her mother to have to pay quite the amount of bits to get a new one made. At least one gets broken a week.

However, like her mother, Odette is doggedly loyal to her friends and loved ones, and is highly protective of them. She cares deeply about those she loves and strives to make sure they are well and happy at all costs, even at the cost of her own well being. Needless to say, she would fight to the nail to keep her loved ones happy and protected.

Odette is the only child of Discord and Celestia. After Discord's reformation he settled down with Princess Celestia and in the later years, had a child. Celestia (now known as Queen Celestia, due to marriage) had an idea for her name and wrote it down on the birth certificate but Discord, being the scheming prankster he is, used his chaotic magic to rename her 'SunSun' as a joke last minute. Unfortunately, Celestia didn't realize the name change until it was too late. Due to hating her legal name, Celestia would always introduce her daughter as 'Odette', which is what she originally wanted to name her, given her more goose and swan appearance (which was also Discord's doing; again, as a joke). Later on, when Odette was old enough, she found out her real name and adapted to introducing herself as Odette as well.

Odette became the heir to the throne upon reaching her preteen years. However, she hates the lifestyle that comes with the crown; she'd much rather live a normal and carefree life like the more normal ponies that she watches over, rather than dealing with world affairs and government and social politics. Because of this, Odette is usually found escaping the castle in some way, shape, or form.

In her younger years, it was usually by screaming 'no' for as long as and as loud as she could while breaking through one of the stained glass windows. She had cost poor Celestia a fortune in window replacements.

Now-a-Days, it's more-so by transforming into someone or something else and sneaking out of the castle while no one's watching.

Odette has some of the powers that her father has, but most of Odette's magic is based around light and the time of day, which takes after her mother's magic. While she can't fully raise and lower the sun by herself, she can move it to some extent and can manipulate the brightness of the sun. Celestia usually assists her with raising the sun on a daily basis as part of her princess training. She can also create mediocre sized clouds and make small balls of light that are similar to the sun, as well. However, she finds these powers boring and hardly ever uses them. She prefers levitating and manipulating her body more.

Like her father, Odette can levitate herself off the ground. She can only levitate herself off the ground a couple of feet but so long as she stays at that height, she can effortlessly keep herself afloat. Trying to levitate herself beyond this limit takes more effort, and that only grows in intensity the higher she goes. If she goes too high for too long, her magic will eventually give out and she'll fall to the ground.

A simple, standard ability for anyone with wings. By flapping the wings on her back, Odette can soar in the skies, like a bird. She gets tired very easily and thus, doesn't fly very long or very high in the air. Combined with her Levitation powers though, Odette can move fairly fast.

Odette can also Levitate a good few feet off the ground. She moves a little slower when levitating than she does when flying, but levitating is a bit faster than simply walking or running. Odette prefers to levitate and can often be seen levitating around the place as a means to get around. Especially upside down; that's her favorite.

Odette can manipulate the airflow of her trachea and vocal chords, allowing her to change her voice at will. She only needs to hear a voice once to be able to flawlessly copy it. There's really no need for such a power, but Odette likes to use it when either mocking someone or for entertainment purposes.

Like her father, Odette can manipulate her body in a number of weird and freaky ways. She can remove body parts, reattach them in other places, create multiple body parts, change color, size, shape, or completely take on a different form. She really only changes color, size, and form though. However, when Odette is ill, she loses complete control over her bodily manipulation and thus, her body will manipulate itself against her own will. It will randomly change color and body parts will randomly change size and shape, and she won't be able to stop it.

Just like her mother, Odette has the ability to manipulate the sun. However unlike her mother, Odette can't fully raise and lower the sun as her Mother can just yet, but she can move it to some extent. She can slowly move it around the sky and hide it behind clouds, as well as adjust the brightness of the sun. It becomes harder for Odette to control the sun the longer she's been manipulating it, and the closer it is to the horizon.

In addition to her manipulation over the sun, Odette has a slight manipulation over the weather and can create clouds and make small balls of light that are similar to the sun. However, they do not burn as brightly or as hot as the sun does, for obvious reasons. However, she finds these powers boring and hardly ever uses them. She prefers levitating and manipulating her body more.

Just like Unicorns, Odette obviously has access to you Standard Magics, as she has Alicorn blood in her. She mostly dabbles in the arts of Teleportation and Conjuration.

For her Teleportation Magic, Odette can teleport from one spot to another, within a twenty foot radius in the blink of an eye. Like flying, Teleportation takes a lot of energy and magic power, thus she gets tired easily. The longest 'teleportation streak' she's been able to perform is three consecutive teleportation casts, one after another. She hardly uses her teleportation though, as there's really no use for it. She really only uses it to escape danger, which is hardly ever.

As for her Conjuration, Odette can conjure and make objects levitate with a simple snap of her claws. However, the items she can conjure can be no larger than a medium-sized shipping crate and is lighter than a bowling ball. If whatever she conjures exceeds these limitations, the object she conjures will be flawed; usually broken, twisted, or scattered. Odette will also lose the ability to make the object levitate, and it will drop to the floor immediately after being conjured.
