The Eternal Frontier: An Ecological History of North America and it's Peoples by Tim Flannery.
Easily one of my favorite works of nonfiction and science based literature. Tim Flannery does an incredible job at detailing history as though it were a story. Starting 65 million years ago and working his way to the present day, this book is am incredible journey through our past and a warning for the future. Nothing but high praise from me.

Right? I was gonna throw Dune in here but we all know it's amazing. But even this book made me emotional. I may have fought tears at the end of this one :`)
