I'm starting a line of tips for drawing to help out a friend! But, will be sharing it here as well!
The first one being line weight! Having variation in the thickness of your lines (some thick, some small, some tapered at the end and thicker in the middle, etc.) gives the piece a whole lot more character and also makes things read easier to the viewer!
For example: in this image the outline of the hair is thicker, getting the overall shape of the hair across! Whereas the lines inside the outline of the hair are smaller so as not to distract from the over all silhouette. So instead of making all of the lines the same, fighting with one another for the spotlight, they are varied, working together to give you another level of detail without making things confusing.
Note: Keep in mind this is just my opinion. There are definitely stylistic choices people may use that have uniform line weights that look excellent! I've done it myself even. This is just something that I do, you can draw however you like!

Do you have any tips on how to fi... View More

I've definitely had my fair share of habits that are hard to break when it comes to art hahaha. I always draw facing the left, it's horrible. But as for specific brush sizes that's not really something I could say. It really depends on the size of your canvas and how much pen pressure you're using.... View More

I'm a left-facing drawer too lmao I getcha. I thought I added it to my initial post but I guess it got lost when I edited it, I meant to ask like what percent change you make to the brush size ^^' I know the actual brush sizing matters a lot on the size of the canvas and the style you're going for ... View More

I widen the lines by literally drawing the thicker sectors with a much fine line, then color it the same as the lines, It gives it a much flexible look to see lines with different shapes, thicker in certain areas.

If I'm understanding your comment correctly then I think I also do that at times. For example her eyelashes would have been done that way!
