Despite his family bloodline not having too much notability, one of Greyline's own ancestors is actually Stygian — also once known as the infamous Pony of Shadows. After the return of the Pillars of Equestria and Stygian's reformation at the hands of the Elements of Harmony, the two were quite surprised to learn they were indeed related following tests done by the Canterlot Institute of Medicine, and the scouring of historical records with assistance from Starswirl the Bearded. While those he knew so long ago have long since passed away, Stygian himself not only has the company of the Pillars he helped gather together, but also the company of his descendants! The two are now quite close, treating one another as family.
