The Legion Of DoomHere are Equestria's worst enemies, each one of them an unrepentant nemesis of everything Equestria stands for. During his appearance in Season 9 of Friendship Is Magic, Grogar was a mere phantasm, Discord in disguise. However, there had been a real Grogar. And it was only when the Legion of Doom learned to work together as a team, that they entertained the idea of challenging him.Tirek had been an enemy of ponies since the beginning of the franchise.There are possibly a great many honest fans of Friendship Is Magic, who've never heard of Tirac, and how he was defeated by the great warrior princess Me'Ghan.Tirek could hatch plots, and even added a touch of finesse to his malevolence. But Tirek could never behold the object of his desire and maintain his self-control.For all his guile, Tirek was always recklessly impulsive in the end. King Sombra must have begun life not unlike Starlight Glimmer, or Twilight Sparkle for that matter. He was one of those exceptionally talented and powerful unicorns, who can practice magic like the rest of us can breathe.Unfortunately, King Sombra was also hopelessly vain, and he was driven by an unrelenting compulsion to subjugate everything that he surveyed. King Sombra never fully understood that there were powers greater than his own in the world, until he was vaporized for the final time.Queen Chrysalis demonstrated again and again that she was consistently self-defeating and perennially unredeemable. Humorless, and frequently just as miserable as she made every pony else, Queen Chrysalis was every bit as cynical and perfidious as any film noir anti-hero I've ever seen. She seems to have been driven by some instinctual hunger or aggression. And Queen Chrysalis never seemed to gain either any control over, or insight into these destructive, predatory urges. The Magic of Friendship and the Elements of Harmony proved to be both more compassionate, and more powerful than any of these deeply flawed, entirely culpable and profoundly tragic fools. One after another, these villains pitted their worst against the best of Mane 6, and each in their turn, they all lost. And then, when the time came for Equestria to be tested as it never had been before, Cozy Glow appeared. It was in Cozy Glow that the Mane 6, The Canterlot regime, the Elements of Harmony, and indeed all of Equestria almost met their match. She appeared when she chose to do so, perhaps the striking blue curls were a bit more extravagant than was common, but Cozy Glow did not look like a Queen Chrysalis or a Tirek, and so almost every pony judged her not to be a monster. The CMC probably never realized that Cozy Glow had staged their first meeting, according to a formula which she was already quite practiced at. No pony ever asked Cozy Glow who her parents were, and where they lived.I ask, and feel my sense of dis-ease give way to dread. Indeed it is almost unforgivable, the potentially lethal gamble Discord took with Cozy Glow. He might as well have been playing with an asteroid impact or a killer virus. No other threat in the entire series could ever have more thoroughly destroyed Equestria.Cozy Glow did not want to ruin, enslave, or consume Equestria, she wanted to pervert it for nothing more than her own gratification.I can imagine nothing more profane than that.
