The first design for Feather Heart! I'm finally trying to fill out extra characters connected to my bigger characters, starting with Astral Veil and the Mirror Mirror Institute! Not to say said extra characters will be given any less attention, of courseSo Feather Heart, the safety specialist of Mirror Mirror! A pegasus adopted and raised by a unicorn family, who became obsessed with protection spells and safety procedures after an incident which left her a scar on her face and nearly one less limb. She found a way to create a kind of amulet that would let non-unicorns cast unicorn spells, and saved up money to commission an enchanter to make it. One of the few non-unicorns to have ever entered and graduated from Celestia's school for gifted unicorns- as despite her lack of a horn, her talent was recognized- she was an easy hire for the team researching Starswirl's Mirrors, as an incredibly risky endeavor. Generally seeming shy, she actually grew out of her shy nature early into her time at Celestia's school. It's now simply an act she enjoys putting on, her personality truly far more manipulative underneath. Thankfully she's not the type to want to truly upset others, just enjoying making things go her way. On the other hoof, that manipulativeness serves her well around the other half-mad arcanists of Mirror Mirror, who'd likely otherwise never indulge a safety procedure a day in their life.
