((I would advise for magic then either wizard or cleric. wizard's magic is intelligence based and cleric magic is wisdom based. A surprising amount of other magic-centered classes revolve around charisma. Paladin would work too though spellcasting for them takes a few levels to really be worth it))

A fighter elf is usually a lot of fun and if you wanna go into magic (assuming this is 5th ed.), there's a lot of feats that can let you use magic like ritual caster or magic initiate!

If it is 5th edition, then you should have the option of taking the eldritch knight archetype as a level 3 fighter which lets you cast magic without sacrificing fighter levels.
