She sat perfectly still, her eyes narrowing into slits. Her tail flicked slowly, almost lazily, but there was a sharp, unnatural curl to it. The light from the room glinted in her eyes, making them look darker than normal—almost predatory. A small, unsettling smile spread across her face, one that didn’t quite reach her eyes. Her fingers twitched slightly, curling and uncurling, as if itching for something far more dangerous than a simple confrontation. “You really thought I’d just… let you stroll in here?” she whispered, her voice low and cold, but carrying an edge that made the pups whimper. “You’ve got some nerve.” Her gaze didn’t flick to Jane’s face. Instead, it lingered on her movements, her bottle, the way she stumbled. There was a deliberate patience in Loona, like a spider waiting for the perfect moment to strike. The pups’ hackles rose, but she didn’t flinch. Instead, she leaned forward slightly, her smile widening just a fraction, unsettlingly calm. “You should… be careful,” she said, voice soft but jagged. “You don’t know what happens when you step into my world.” The room seemed to grow colder, the shadows around her stretching just a little further. Even the playful light from the window couldn’t touch her aura—it felt as if the very air was thickening around her. She let the silence hang, just staring, waiting. Every instinct told Jane that Loona wasn’t just annoyed—she was dangerous, and she was enjoying the fear she was inspiring. Loona’s voice dropped even lower, almost a hiss: “And trust me… I never forget.” The pups whimpered again, inching closer to her, instinctively sensing she was both their protector and something far more terrifying. Loona’s head tilted slightly, the smile curling into something darker, a predator savoring the scent of fear. “Be… very careful, Jane,” she whispered, and then she just sat there, motionless, her presence like a shadow stretching across the room, chilling everything it touched.
