I never wanted to grow up,
I have always defended myself.
My exterior grew hard as stone
and yet I was hurt quite often.
Somewhere deep within me
I remained a child.
Only when
I can perceive it no longer
I’ll know
It’s too late, too late, too late for me.
Down there on the bottom of the sea,
where all life is forever silent,
I can still see my dreams,
like air rising from the deep.
I glide through the darkness,
waiting for the morning light.
Then I play with the sunbeam,
that silver-like breaks in the water.
Somewhere deep within me
I remained a child.
Only when
I can perceive it no longer
I’ll know
It’s too late, too late, too late for me.
