"Once, a very long time ago, even before the Pillars of Old had found each other. There were three siren sisters…"
As she spoke, she'd weave a little magic into the air, disrupting it and showing images that are animated. Her gem glowed softly as she looked down on her pups, Twilight Melody and Tidal Ambience, who were now a little older and curled in between her large forelegs.
"The first sister, golden as the sun's first rays with a blood-red gem. Her eyes a piercing yellow, like that of the sun's reflection over a field of wheat. Her fins had grown monstrous and she had grown to an abnormal size for their species. As all three had.
The second sister was a beautiful shade of amethyst, and her eyes shone just like those glittering gemstones. Her face had grown grotesque, and she bent in harsh, unnatural ways.
The third, was a light shade of aquamarine. And she seemed to be the least affected by their surge in power, it only seeming to make her grow at alarming rates and stay bigger than her sisters. Her eyes shone with a kindness unlike her sisters, she showed sorrow in those teal orbs."
With each description, the image would change to fit the character.
"They lived far out to sea, but grew lustful for power. And despite the pleas of the youngest, they set out to find a town. And find one they did. The small coastal village of Sand Dunes. They began to spread disharmony, and with their voices, made the ponies quarrel and fight with each other. It was a feast fit for rulers in their eyes. And they did feast. And would have kept feasting had the Pillars not shown up, guided by Stygian.
You see, young Stygian had grown close to the youngest sister, Sonata Dusk. She had told him her feelings of not being listened to by her siblings, and the fear of what they would do to her when the town ran dry. And Stygian told her of his own feelings of being looked over by his friends. She was the only one who seemed to listen, and when the Pillars did not listen to him, on trying to reason with them? He was broken. Easy to manipulate and turn into a mighty beast the likes of which we still havent seen to this day.
The Sirens lost their gems, and the older siblings were filled with rage to discover what had happened to them.
Stygian and the Pillars vanished not soon after the Sirens were banished."
She pulls the two pups closer, nuzzling each in turn and smiling softly.
"So you see, my dear pups. You have a dangerous, but wonderful gift! You must be careful where you use it, and how you use it. Lest you end up like the three sisters. Am I understood?"
They nod, and she smiles again. "I'm glad. How about we move onto a lighter story? Let's see here….
Once upon a time…"
