When the cold of the new dark winters grasp held the lands like talons of a bird of prey, the tribes did come together. The weary warriors banded together, silence mostly accommodated the march towards the center. The land in which the came to was known formerly as the Kings Heart. Previously a vast and endless monument to the civilization in which only existed a few moon cycles prior.
T'was then, that the ritual was conducted. The various leaders of each tribe brought to the center an offering. The offerings themselves were laid upon a large oak coffin, raised from the ground upon ancient granite. The location was sullen, not a soul dare make more sound then a breath. The many who came that day, swore but for a moment the endless darkness seemed to open but for mere moments.
They sat and waited, for what seemed like days. Each moment an eternity, as if the sands of time had stopped the hourglass broken. But through the silence, there came only one. It appeared as a lone owl, it perched itself upon the coffin of kings past. The many watched with cold eyes, as the bird seemed to calculate its next move. But it would seem as soon as it arrived, did it leave. The offerings gone, and replaced with 9 feathers.
It was then, that the fates lost became known. They approached the coffin, almost as if they were drawn to it by a force much greater then the mind could easily comprehend. They were almost zombie like for moments, as eventually they reached the tomb. They gazed upon the feathers, picking them up individually and adorning it upon their armor. Without much more then another word, the nine warriors escorted themselves from the ritual.
But they did not trot alone, as the masses quickly followed. They sought out the fleshed ones demons, and slew them with what seemed like great mercy. His servants twisted souls, finally able to rest in peace from the agile and masterful swipe of sharpened iron.
This went on for many moons, before the 9 left the army and approached the great mountain. The embarked up its peak in what would become for some their final journey, the fated ones reached the peak and steeped into the abyss.
