Hey there, this is a slightly different guide than what I've done so far, I hope you'll still find it useful regardless!
So I noticed that although we have a nice little "Meet the Staff" page, it doesn't actually tell you much about what the different parts of the staff do. (I bet some of you didn't even know that different parts of the staff have very different roles to fill - and that's okay, I made this blog for you!) It is possible to find this information by snooping around on the site, but not everyone has the time or patience for that.
All information below is a mix of my own understanding of the different roles as well as what is written about the different user groups here: https://canterlotavenue.com/all-badges/

First up is Public Relations - also known as PR. From the Badge page it reads;
Those with the Public Relations badge, are in charge of making sure that the community remains active, by organizing activities, contests, and events. They are also responsible for gathering user feedback to help improve the experience of the website.
In other words, we're here to ensure you have a pleasant stay here on Canterlot Avenue.
Members of PR staff are easily recognizable with pink names and an icon showing a group of people.
An easy way to get into contact with PR as a whole is through the Suggestion&Discussion page here on CA https://canterlotavenue.com/talkbackfm/ (You can easily find it by scrolling to the bottom of the left menu and clicking the "Suggestions and PR" button)

Next up is Development - also known as Devs. From the Badge page it reads;
Users who have this badge are responsible for maintaining the site's stability and servers. They are also responsible for fixing bugs and making new features for users to enjoy. They are also responsible for making the website a reality. Without the devs, Canterlot Avenue would not have happened.
As the quote above states; without devs there would be no CA - remember to appreciate them and their hard work.
Devs are easily recognizable with deep blue names and a coding icon.
Just like PR the Devs have their own page here on CA (they actually made their's first) https://canterlotavenue.com/devnews Here you can report any bugs you find (or show your appreciation towards the devs!) Keep in mind that if you have any suggestions for the site you have to get in touch with PR and not Devs, despite it being a development related suggestion.

The third and last department is the Royal Guards - commonly referred to as the moderators or mods. From the Badge page it reads:
The Royal Guards badge, is given to those who are official members of the Moderation team. The moderators have the responsibility of enforcing the rules, and/or issuing warnings or infractions to rulebreakers. They ensure that the website is trouble free. They also have the responsibility to help solve disputes among users in the event of a rule violation.
In short; these are the guys you should be scared of and will come after you if you do bad things. I'm kidding of course, but it is the mods who send out official warnings/bans etc.
Mods are easily recognizable with their light blue names and hammer icon.

Although we've gone over the different departments there are still a few staff roles we haven't gone over so let's continue.
Next up is the Admins. From the Badge page it reads;
Administrators are the higher-ups of the website. They take the responsibility of making sure that both Staff and Users are obeying the rules and enjoying themselves on the website. They also make the big decisions on the website.
These guys are basically the "staff" for the ordinary staff members. Certain Admins are listed as Team Leads for different departments and therefore fall under these as well. For more information on which Admin belongs to which team please see the Meet the Staff page here:https://canterlotavenue.com/ca-staff/
Admins can easily be recognized with their golden names and star icon

Lastly, there's the special snowflake of the team; the Founder of CA - Corona. From the Badge page it reads;
The founder is the Head. They are the one responsible for the existence of the website. The founder role is only available for the creator of the site. They are also responsible for making or breaking decisions within staff or user disputes.
The founder is easily recognizable with their orange name and diamond icon.

Phew, a bit of a long read, huh? Well, regardless I hope you found this guide to staff informative. If you would like to be a part of staff be on a lookout for announcements about open positions! Contacting an Admin about potential open positions is also an option even if there are no announcements about hiring new staff.
