So you want to tag someone in your post or in a comment, huh? You tried the good old @Name but the user you were looking for didn't show up? Fear not, Hickory is here to help!
First off, there are a few things to keep in mind when trying to tag (also known as mention) another user; 1) You can only tag users you have on your friend list. 2) The user must be online in order for the tag to work. That being said, there is a way to tag someone despite them being both offline and not your friend. And here's how:
First off you need to use the following code: [user=NUMBER]NAME[/user] To find the ID number simply go to the user you want to tag's profile and find one of their wallposts. Click on the time/date it was posted, that will take you to a direct link to the post. See the image below on where to click.
The URL will now look something like this
As you can see there's a part at the end called "userid" - this number is what you want to copy and paste in place of NUMBER in the code above. As you can see, my user number is 249.
In place of NAME you can put anything, but no matter what, the final link will show up as the name connected to the user id.
