Likely, the majority of you have no idea who Purple Swirl is, and the ones who do, know little about her, as is reasonable, and that's probably why she's percieved as a Mary Sue. It's honestly reasonable to assume that she is one based on first impressions. Though, I'm getting ahead of myself, as likely, you haven't even seen Purple Swirl yet.

This is Purple Swirl. She's a pacifist, but she isn't one soley from choice. See those swirls on her? Those are not natural markings, but rather the visual representation of a curse that was put on her at birth, which hinders her ability to use violence on any living thing. When she does, the swirls glow red and she feels a burning pain throughout her body. It's not that she can't use violence, it's just that she won't use it out of fear of hurting herself. By the way, that burning does in fact cause at least semi-permanent damage to Swirl's body. So it's not like she can just tough it through the pain and smack the crap out of her enemies anyway. There are real consequences to her hurting any living things purposely. Early on in her life, Purple Swirl was angry at life due to the fact that she couldn't violently solve problems, which transitioned to her view of not believing in using violence to solve problems. This moved onto simply accepting that violence is a part of life, but she didn't believe in personally using it. She's fine with others using violence, but it's just not her thing, for obvious reasons. She actually becomes a doctor in later parts of her story, and she accepts that her job wouldn't really be as valuable if it weren't for those who use violence, like she can't.

So yeah, accusing this character of being a Mary Sue is honestly really dismissive of the character she is, and ignores the fact that she is developed.

this reminds me of my OC, who's horn technically functions as nothing more then a head ornament
Eh, here is the thing. Unless your oc somehow makes an interesting role play impossible, who the hell cares about their story or abilities? I remember when I was on Ponysquare, I had an rp where Quirky needed help moving things in his house and another person's oc just teleported everything in the h... View More
