They had thre... View MoreInk stood tall, looking down on the pony before her in disgust. She was not surprised that they had started kneeling, blabbering on about how they were sorry, that it had been a mistake. They had threatened her newest maid, attempting to rob her on her way back from a butcher run by a griffin she had made a deal with. A delicate matter carried out in the dead of night for hope of running into as little rumor circulation as possible. It was a taboo after all. Yet this stallion, an earth pony who seemed to be the perpetrator of a number of recent thefts, had nearly ruined not only her plans, but the life of her maid. She would have simply handed him over to the guards if it had been any other pony she'd found and defended, gone through the process and seen him rot in jail. But this was different. He touched something that was hers, harmed the lives that belonged to her. This wasn't something she could let pass through the normal courts she reigned over. "Crimson," Ink called out to a pegasus who dropped out of flight and landed beside her, taking a moment before bowing. "You've ensured that we have not been followed, correct?" "None have seen us return to your manor, my lady." "Good, that makes this easier. Firstly," she started as her horn lit, the violet magic covering the sobbing stallion's mouth before vanishing, his cries becoming deathly silent even as he moved his lips and panicked. "Since you don't seem to understand your place here, allow me to do all the talking. You may think that the current face of the night court's public relations is going to treat you justly and have a fair shake. Just like she's doing her job, no?" She looked over to the now silent stallion as she paced back and forth, seeing him nod in quiet horror. "Unfortunately for you, you chose your victim tonight poorly. That mare you tried to steal from is Vanilla Belle, a unicorn mare who is the younger sister of one of my former classmates, and is training as a maid before she becomes a mare-in-waiting. My, mare-in-waiting. A slight against one of my own is a slight against me." She paused as she turned in place, a warm smile on her muzzle. "Now, if you had done this oh, I don't know, a year ago, I may have been lenient, and simply imprisoned you without trial. I've been learning a few things from my godfather as of late- you're a criminal, surely you've heard of the vampony Duke and his business, yes? No matter. The point is, you're not going to even have a sliver of a chance to see daylight again. You're going to be given over to him, and likely kept alive only to be used as a feed bag until the day your body gives out. Then you'll probably be sold to the minotaurs as feed for their manticores." At the sound of the stallion trying to run away, his hooves scrambling for purchase on the hardwood floor, Ink's horn flared once more, her twisted magic gripping the stallion's entire body. "Don't worry though, I'm not entirely without mercy. As a noble I should always keep in mind the good for all, even if they are unredeemable like you. I'll grant you one final gift before we send you off. One final, everlasting dream." Bringing him close to her as her eyes began to glow with her unsuppressed magic, horn flaring as the magic condensed into a single point at its tip, Ink moved his forehead closed to hers. Frozen rigid by the magic, he could not resist as her horn tapped his head, the magic sinking into his skull as his body went limp. With a disgusted face, Ink let the stallion's body fall to the floor with a thud, turning and walking away as she flicked her tail at the pegasus who had been semi-frozen in fear from the stark change in her countenance. "Get rid of it."
