View More// open starter if you'd like - & i just felt like writing a little something ! i know it's a bit long for a wall post so feel free to respond in DMs if you want to! & yes, this is set in my OC-verse where Bella has taken Luna's place // The mare opens half-lidded eyes, silver gaze wavering over the city below, the warm lights of the buildings had shut off one by one as the night went on longer and the ponies of Canterlot and the surrounding cities trickled off into slumber. From her perch up here in the castle, on the balcony that extended from her living quarters, Bellafina could see a fair distance out past the borders of Canterlot, some ponies never did seem to sleep, as lights of shops and those lining the streets always seemed to be one, some hustling and bustling continued on even in the early hours of the morning - it was some comfort, at least, that she was not technically alone during her watch. With a rather apathetic expression, Bellafina turns away from her dutiful watch to step back into her room, figuring that perhaps a stretch of her hooves through the castle halls would help her not feel so stiff before it's time for her to check up on the dreams of ponies, soothe those who are having nightmares. That, and she had always had some sort of gut feeling brewing at night that it was a silent responsibility of hers to check through the castle and make sure that those inside were safe - yes, that did seem like it would fall upon the guard's shoulders, but the princess always had more confidence in her own magic in case of an intruder, and knew if there was trouble, she would not hesitate to protect herself and the others. She opens the double doors leading to her quarters with a tilt of her horn in their direction, glowing faintly silver, and nods a gentle greeting to the two guards standing still outside, always seeming oh so serious dressed up in their armor. She appreciated their company, as quiet as it was - silence was never something that bothered Bellafina. The dark mare strides down one of the corridors, peering through the glass windows that line the hallway down to the waterfalls that cascade from the lower levels of the castle - she had never feared heights, it would surely be unfortunate for a creature who can fly to fear heights, but there was still a tiny inkling of discomfort that knotted at her insides looking down at how the mountainside dropped. She drags her eyes away slowly, looking briefly up to the moon that reflects through the window panels in some ghastly manner, not really expecting it to have gone anywhere since she raised it but it was nice to know nonetheless, before moving her stern gaze ahead. Her ears, which simply stayed relaxed on her head, perk up further at a soft noise some distance down around the corner, muscles in her flank tensing as the princess of the night halts quickly.

The night where Alex decided to finally execute his plan of infiltrating the castle and stealing as many goods as he could. It was a high risk, high reward job. That’s just the way Alex liked to live, not knowing what’ll happen next. It kept him on edge, which excited him. The infiltration of the castle would require a lot of care and skill, luckily for Alex, plenty of years of doing this sorta thing gave him both of those. Now he just needed to execute it. This wasn’t going to be easy. This wasn’t some run-of-the-mill bandit camp that he could sneak up on in the dead of night and slit the throats of the sleeping criminals then loot their corpses. This was the Canterlot castle, filled with royalty and highly trained and armoured guards, both of which Alex wasn’t about to kill. The bounty of his head was high enough. If he pulled this off, he’d be able rich. He could lay low for a while, wait until everything dies down, then he would be out looking for more loot. For the past few weeks, Alex took the time to study the patrols of the guards. Starting just on the exterior of the castle, then once he got them down to a science, he got behind the walls, but didn’t venture too far. Day by day he’d go further and further, studying and observing everything he could, taking mental notes of all the little details of what and who was where and at what times. Tonight, he felt confident he could do it. First things first wasn’t making sure he was equipped for the job. He made sure he had all of his gear on hand and at the ready. He wore simple light leather armour. It didn’t provide much protection, but it was light and quiet. To conceal his identity, he wore a hood and a face mask. He wasn’t looking to shed blood, but if it was between the life of some guard or a bag full of loot, that guard was getting put in the dirt. Once he was ready, he set out. He used the same method to breach the castle walls. He stayed hidden in the shadows, moving swiftly and silently as if he were a ghost, his hooves light on and quiet as they ran across the stone floor. He avoided a patrol of guards, slinking past them and proceeding further. He slid along the castle walls, glancing over his shoulder and down the hall he just came, making sure no one was catching him by surprise. He edged towards a corner when he stopped and froze, hearing faint sounds from around the corner and down the hall. That was unexpected. He hunkered down, listening closely and not moving a muscle, his hoof hovering over his dagger that was sheathed at his side. His icy blue eyes were constantly scanning his surroundings, both watching for others and making escape plans in case shit hit the fan.

View MoreIt was not like the other inhabitants of the castle to be up this way, not during the middle of the night, at least, they were usually well asleep by now, resting for when they had to take over responsibilities of the castle the next day. Perhaps one of them simply couldn't sleep, restless mind or the like - Bellafina had heard of many ponies suffering from insomnia, but she had never known any of her comrades to battle with such a thing. Which would explain her current suspicion, the time of the night being odd but also because of how quickly the maker of this noise stills, almost enough to have the mare pondering over if she actually even heard anything to begin with. Bellafina could seem paranoid, letting her thoughts run about something as simply as a quiet shuffle down the hallway when the castle is filled with royals, guards, and guests alike at any given time - but she knew no guest would come up this way, probably wouldn't even know how to get past the main lower levels of the castle, and the only guards in the general vicinity for the time being where the ones stationed outside of her door some ways back. She trusted the guards enough to know none would be trying to finish their patrols early and cut back through this way. It is quiet now, no hoof beats sounding off in the opposite direction, and yet none getting louder. Bellafina pulls in a strained breath of air, calling out softly to break the silence and placing her bets on the cause of the noise simply being one of her friends, "You know not to be awake at this time of night, there is nothing to do," she even allows herself a warm smile in the dark, of course knowing that no one can see it, as she moves forward slowly, ears straining to hear anything but her own quiet steps. The smile that pulled on her muzzle falters, then fades, when there is no response, just more silence. The princess holds her wings tight against her flank with a frustrated huff, halting when she has stood across the intersecting hallway - she debates for a few heartbeats worth of time about casting an illumination spell, but decides against it. She has a gut feeling chewing at the pit of her stomach that this is no friend of hers hiding out in the hallway - and Bellafina had always felt more comfortable in the dark, anyway. The mare straightens up, an odd amount of confidence resting on her shoulders. She figures she should probably be feeling her coat prickling up in fear or anticipation, and yet it wasn't. Perhaps it came with the job description, Bellafina was used to pushing aside her nerves and letting sternness replace it's demeanor, and with that she speaks (or demands, really) in a much quieter tone than before to the darkness that engulfs the corridor, "Who are you?"

View More// sorry for the late response and if its lowkey lame i was incredibly distracted today askflakfs // It all happens so fast. There was no voice that called back to her in the hallway, yet she knew with the silence that she was not alone. It is proven when there's the flash of movement - really, Bellafina hears it more than she sees it, the soft skid of hooves across the tile flooring, she swears she can see a flash of blue like the shooting stars that go off over her night sky, but she must be losing her mind, right? Of course in real life, this all happens in nothing more than a two second period of time, but right now it feels as if she, and the being with her in the hallway, are moving in slow motion. The mare whips her head after the strike of cold blue so fast she wears she'll get whiplash, her own eyes widening in surprise - widening, and then very quickly do they furrow into frustration, into anger that someone dare try to interrupt the peace of the night she wrapped the castle up in. Her wings splay outwards as she spooks backwards in a half-rear, the sharp whizzing that buzzed in her ears turns out to be from a weapon, looks like an arrow as it pings against the armor decorating her hoof from her rear, sending sparks. Bellafina hardly has enough time to register the attempted attack on her, hardly has enough time after she calls out a demanding, "Guards!" before a dark shape is moving fast, incredibly fast, following the bolt after her. Bella grunts softly in pain as her hooves clatter out underneath her, scrambling uselessly for purchase against the smoothness of the floor right before her balance is knocked out beyond saving, landing with a thud onto her side and a grimace tightening her expression. She knows that she has to try and fight for the upper hand fast, she's a princess for the old god's sake she has more training than to end up slammed uselessly on her side like this, in her own damn castle for that matter - but, that was easier said than done if she is dealing with an assailant who seems to make a habit of wearing weapons like it was the new fashion statement. That does not stop Bellafina from casting energy into her horn, crackling with pale silver-and-white sparks; representing the same emotion that has the princess gritting her molars together, attempting to shift her weight enough to plant one hoof up once more, "Give up and reveal yourself to me. That is not a question."

He found himself in such a bright and cheerful place after he spent the whole day asking how to even get to where this Princess Mare was. Ever since stumbling into this damn world, all he wanted to do was get out. He met a bunch of ponies, as odd as it sounds, back in the village he was at named Ponyville. He had talks with some of them but most notably six of them. They each had very different personalities and yet, they got along so well together. However, it wasn't like he hated them. Sure some of them were annoying, especially that pink Mare that was always bouncing but he did find a little enjoyment out of being with the six. After staying in that village for some time, as much enjoyment as he got from being there, he has to complete his objective. At least he still has his memories from his past life intact to his brain but he didn’t know a damn thing about this world. The purple Mare who was also a bookworm said she knew nothing about another pony teleporting from another universe but the Stallion might have a good bet asking the Princess/Queen that lives in Canterlot. And now, here he is. He had gotten here a bit later than he expected. The moon was already peering out and shinning on the city. He was going to start asking around where he could find this Princess/Queen on the shop’s that were currently still open but looking upon the big palace there, he had already figured it out. At least he was in the right place. The Stallion walked up to the large palace and of course their would be guards outside. Good thing his half Demon side was brought along with him to this odd universe. He got into a dark corner and disappeared into blue flames instantly and instantly reappeared in a dark corner inside the palace. It was that easy to get inside. Now he just hoped when he turned the next corner, he didn’t see any guards. The white haired half demon made his way around the corner while looking at the designs for a moment of the glass windows. They were fascinating to watch as the moonlight shinned upon it. When he finally turned forward, there was a single Mare standing there, staring back at him. Their distance was not that far apart but not too close together. He assumed this was the Mare he was looking for. He simply walked up to her as if he wasn’t infiltrating inside a Princess’/Queen’s palace and his deep voice spoke “I’ve been looking for you.. Well, if you are who I think you are..” He always kept his frown on his face and it never changed. He turned his expressionless frown to the right and continued to ask the Mare “Are you the Princess to the palace? Or are you Queen?”
