Well, its just 2 colors...
The smooth tan body, shows a signs of forced conformity. Not a sense of joy here. Pain and trauma. The small subtle darker mane and tail, is the only shift in personal power. A brown to show a small youthful rebellion.

I think its just because EA was shifting away from their Single Player lineups and focusing only on their sports and star wars games.
