The red pegasus bounced the question to the vamp mare, who at this time hadn't had the dream with Yara yet. It was a bit on the colder side out here tonight, but neither of them were using a jacket on top of their fur. "A cold night is no enjoyable ordeal. It adds another problem on top of gathering and shelter. A warm night has less worry tied to it." She didn't sound annoyed about having to explain it. Zesta had asked an honest question, and Seafoam said the answer she had on her mind. "Ooh, that's so cool! I forgot you have that survival thing you have to do. Oh it must be so exhausting!" "To some. To me it's matters of necessity.." No harsh tone, just the facts. "Yes it would be necessary. Hmm, but what about just right now? We're just walking outside near Ponyville... or uh, kinda near it. The two of us all alone. Do you like the small chill in the air?" Seafoam had the consider the recontextualized question here. So the houses are nearby, and they're just walking... Zesta can see the gears turning, Seafoam's mind opening up right before her as they walked alone in no particular direction. She was so closed-minded, Zesta should be there to open it up for her! "I wouldn't consider the temperature normally. I think you're asking the question more... emotionally. And in that way I side with the night princess, to be naturally colder at night than during the day." Zesta was gleeful for the amount of consideration in her response. Not too much as to bore her, but enough detail to show her she really thought of her answer before saying it. Beautiful. "Ooh, yeah, I like it a little colder too. Really get those chills in there sometimes, feel something different during the night~" Seafoam didn't share her enthusiasm outwardly, but secretly that big ol' warrior was feeling it too~ She can't lie to Zesta, no no no. Zesta sees past those orange eyes. Nothing is said between them for a little bit. Seafoam was getting near the end of her week without sleep, but wasn't letting that get in the way of spending a little time with a friend, one whose been really excited to be with her lately. Part of herself wonders if she's being gawked at for her vampony features, but Zesta doesn't talk about them to the point of concern. She just appears to be curious, and excited for Seafoam's life. That's something she can respect and even appreciate. Should she offer the mare something in return for the time she spends with her? The company seems to be its own reward to the red pegasus. Seafoam will bring it up in the future. "Now I ask you, do you prefer the stars or the moon? Emotionally, of course. Then I'll tell you my preference." Wow. Seafoam asked her to think on something! Gotta give her a good response. "I think, the starrrrs-- no! The moon." Overcome with anxiety Zesta looked at Seafoam for assurance in her response. The level, tender eyes filled her with confidence, Seafoam was listening carefully to her response... Otherwise she wouldn't be listening at all, right? "The moon is so beautiful, and it doesn't hurt your eyes to look at like with the sun. And it has the phases to tell us the new moon, even more reason to be thankful for it." Seafoam appeared to appreciate the response, because she nodded thoughtfully before glancing cautiously up at the sky, stopping in her place. "The stars have such quiet beauty in their ranks. They're-- so vast-- so-- incredible." The vamp slipped some genuine emotion in her voice, so much that it even took Zesta somewhat off balance. Seafoam just gazed endlessly into the twinkling black void. And now... Zesta didn't know what was going through her head. But she had a guess. "You wish you could touch one, Sea-Sea?" Seafoam nodded. "Perhaps... I will get to see one in my lifetime. Learn what they are, what their values can show me... I'm so small in the world at night..." They were going to be here for awhile. Zesta would attempt to look up into the sky and see the same thing her friend was seeing, and let her alone in silence for a bit.
