[Quick review]
A tool to easily make skinpacks for minecraft.
[Instructions]
1.- Copy and paste all the skins (files in .png format) you wish to put in the skin pack into the folder
2.- Run
3.- Select mode (manual or automatic bulk mode) or simply close the program.
4.- Follow instructions until you finish.
5.- Open folder and do whatever you need with the generated skinpack files.
[About Manual Mode]
This mode is for you to type in the name of each skin. You also need to type in the file name. Is useful if you want to give a skin a name different from the one on the .png file or if you want to exclude a skin you already put in the input folder
If you mistype the name of the skin file the program won't show a warning nor an error. Is something I should add... someday.
[About ABM (Automatic Bulk Mode)]
This mode is the fastest and fool proof one. It takes every .png file you put in the input folder and includes it into skinpack. The only down I see on this mode is it won't allow you to change the skin name. So if you have a skin as fqp.png, the skin name will show as fqp in minecraft too.

Very few times have I actually tried to do anything for a community I'm part of, as in, suggest any sort of event or community project.
You see, I'm the kind of guy who doesn't like to be on the spotlight. I prefer to lay a low profile. If people doesn't know you exist, they don't tend to bother you, right? And boy, was I right. Being noticed was a huge mistake. So a little bit of context about this dreadful tool.
Back in 2021 I really got into minecraft. I was eager to play with a friend online (one I hadn't seen in years since I moved back into my hometown). So me and another friend used to play often and always thought on how to get this friend to play minecraft bedrock (which at the time was the only version I had thanks to xbox gamepass). He was about to get married and whatever. Point is he was busy. So during those months, I was working at a little LED lights shop while I tried to get a decent engineering job. It was in these days that me and my friend (the one who wasn't getting married) started to play, but back then xbox's minecraft didn't have the custom skin import option. I was jelly of my friend and his cool custom skin. I had to investigate and you only could use skins from skinpacks if you were playing on xbox one. Well, it turns out one could install custom skinpacks without needing to buy them, but it was time consuming to prepare the files for the skinpack to be read by the game.
Given I had lots of "spare" time while I waited for costumers, I started to work on a little tool to make my custom skinpacks easily, and I even thought on distributing this tool behind those ad sites to get a bit or two while giving the tool for free. But then I was struck with an idea, one that would bring my downfall 2 years later, lol.
So what's the golden apple of discord? My little tool, . I didn't know if there was any out there or not, so I made one in c++ and aided myself a bit with a portable 7zip to put the pack together in a single file for minecraft to install it. It was really useful until microsoft did some nasty changes to the XBOne and one can no longer install custom skinpacks (the reason the tool was created for, to begin with). So the tool became worthless and pointless just a few months after it was made.
Years passed and whatever. 2023 came, I fell in the wrong hooves (met the wrong person and befriended them and their little lapdog, no less) and my little idea for the community was used against me to give me a nice boot in the flank for good. All because, back when I made that tool, I was friends with someone who was doing some really REALLY bad stuff over that community (and who was part of the staff for being "reliable" and "a good person"). So my little idea was to tell this person about my tool and suggest a community activity to gather skins from all around the community and make a skinpack for the community. Back then it was a decent idea. Get all the players together, share their skin and have an "official" skinpack for bedrock with a bit of everyone's heart in it. But the problem was that I was going to ask that evil guy (whom nobody except his victims knew was evil by that time) to help me promote my idea to the higher staff.
And there you have it. When I talked about minecraft with this other "friend" (the lapdog) and mentioned the evil guy, this guy. This "friend" twisted everything and ran crying to the other person. And that's when shit hit the fan. I was judged byt the head of the community as if I had been shilling the bad guy's actual felonies.
So this little tool I was proud of... I have really negative feelings about it. An idea I had to help people get their own customized skins in the game they loved so much got my ass permab'd.
Either way. I'm publishing this tool over here just because I can. I don't think it's useful anymore given one can import skins in bedrock on consoles anyway. Still, if any of you want to put your skins in a single pack, I guess this will make it easier. Save you generating random numbers and typing them over and making json files.
