Spoiler: They won't. The developer for Smash's netcode is the exact same as Tekken's.
If you didn't know, Tekken's online has a PERMANENT 6-7 frames of input delay MINIMUM. No rollback and terrible compensation.

The fact that most japanese developers have been too proud to learn western rollback netcode is what kills them this EVO.
Also the fact that a $15 small company indie fighting game has better netcode than some of the big competitors is koala-tea

Yaaaaaas Mike Z is a legend (and one of my biggest inspirations). He pioneered Skullgirls into a beautiful position and after 10 years, I'm happy that he finally got his game into EVO.
If Mike Z is on it, I am not worried one bit.
