It's alright. One of the first bands I thought of with that description was Iron Maiden, since they made a few songs about history. I might check Sabaton out.

Sanatorium have done a few covers over the years. Twilight of The Thunder God- Amon Amarth, For Whom The Bell Tolls- Metallica, Feuer Frei- Rammstein to name few. No Iron Maiden yet unfortunately.
