So, I know a bunch of you guys (myself included) have been wanting the site to implement a system that allows you to use multiple characters on one account. However, since there's, unfortunately, an awfully small dev team at the moment it'll probably take a while before it's coming around. So meanwhile, here's a workaround!
UPDATE: Since the multiple characters system is out now this blog is a lot less relevant of course, but it can still be useful for those who find they don't have enough character slots or who can't afford/don't want to pay for more. The end result will look something like this....
Here's what you'll need: 1) Some characters you want to RP as 2) A bit of time and effort Fairly simple, right? Kay, let's start.
First off I'd suggest you make a blog, or friendship letter, containing all the information you have on your character that you'd normally fill in when making an actual profile for said character. Go to this part of the site: https://canterlotavenue.com/blog/ And press the green + in the top right corner to get started.
These can either be simple basic text or slightly more advanced with pictures and text formatting and the like. Remember, in blogs you can use BBCodes to your heart's content! (For BBCode guide look here: https://canterlotavenue.com/blog/218/hickorys-guide-to-bbcodes-ca-edition/ )
Aside from a character info blog, you'll also need an image of your character. Preferably one that's in the style of an icon and not too big either. It just looks a lot better that way. I've used images that are 150x150 pixels. For a bit of extra aesthetic, I also made my images circles. (Here's a link to a site I've used for cropping images in the past: https://www167.lunapic.com/editor/ , Of course, any art/picture editing program can be used as well). Once you have your image cropped, scaled and ready, head on over and upload it somewhere where you can easily find it again and where it won't be deleted. If anything you can always just post it here on CA in an album!
Once that is done head on over to your own profile. Here you have a few choices on where to display your other characters. Personally, I think it looks nicer to have them listed in the "About me" section since it's at the front of your page when people click on it - however, this section only shows up on PC, not on mobile. So, in other words, if you want to ensure everyone is able to see your other characters I'd suggest putting the code below in your "Misc. RP info" section.
In your selected section you type out (or copy and paste) the following code: <link=BLOG URL><img>IMAGE URL</img></link> Replace all < with [ and > with ] to make the code actually work! This will make an image show up in your profile info, and if you hover your mouse over it you'll see it's actually a link as well! Clicking the link will take you to the blog of your character.
