Lights flash on. Chic music invades the ambience, cutting the tension of the crowd below. Your cue to showcase your ideas and walk your passion bare like the summer sun is imminent. Hooves, claws, digit-equivalent alike sat restlessly upon shutter buttons to capture and burn your history into their negatives, the moment you're on stage. This is no place for the shy. The runway is ready for you.

The Face of Summer?

Desire to have your oc match or even beat the heat of summer? Interested in free art, perhaps? This competition might sate either or both of the aformentioned desires. A precursor to the main event (starts with a "B" and ends with "each").

Interested? Make a post based on this scenario: Your character has entered a modelling competition, although a simple one, themed after "Summer". Empty purses or limitless resources, accessorize your toon to your heart's content or even let their runway manner do the talking. Either ways, you have one chance to walk the walk on the runway, and win the title!

- Posts can be purely text or an artpiece that includes your character with a simple description. Participants can even send a detailed description of what their character would look like, if both aren't your cuppa.

- RP is welcomed, though it won't affect the final scoring (could help with popular vote, should it pass).

- Participants must post on either this event page or main plaza (front page) with the hashtag provided below.

- One (1) character per user. Any more is grounds for disqualification.

- Participants will be judged by:

3. Snow Storm

- One (1) winner receives free art (worth ~$20), and becomes the face of the upcoming main summer event!

"I can't BELIEVE I let you guys talk me into this." The sounds of cheering, and clapping are quite audible from behind the curtains of a beachside runway. In the middle of these two curtains, various... View More"I can't BELIEVE I let you guys talk me into this." The sounds of cheering, and clapping are quite audible from behind the curtains of a beachside runway. In the middle of these two curtains, various models of all shapes and sizes walk out onto a runway open to the summer sun, then return. The voice of an announcer calling out each contestant, and making small commentary on their outfit booms through speakers along the stage. Behind the curtains, away from the entrance to the runway, Nar stands with his two best friends, Asuka, and Juno. Asuka punches her brother in the arm at his comment. "Oh please. You were MADE for this competition! Mr. 'I wear vacation dad attire all year round'." Beside her, Juno nods enthusiastically. "Plus, we'll be out there to cheer you on. So even if you fail miserably, you'll have at least a few fans!" Nar fixes Juno with a deadpan look that could probably bore a hole through solid concrete. Juno is unfazed. Before Nar can make another comment, a coordinator waves him over. He's next. With a sly grin, Asuka pushes her brother towards the entrance to the runway with a mischievous "Go give Autumn some eye candy, stud." It takes every muscle in Nar's face not to grimace at that comment. Gotta keep cool for the runway, or the tabloids are going to tear me to shreds! Almost immediately after a slender dragon in a sundress exits the stage, Nar is given the signal to walk out. He puts on his best "I'm so happy to be here!" face, then struts out onto the runway. "Next up is Nar Yakushi! Sporting that classic vacation dad look! Forgot your sunscreen? Don't worry! He brought extra, just in case!" Stepping out into the summer sun, Nar reveals his chosen outfit to the crowd. He sports his usual black banded straw hat, and yellow Hawaiian shirt, but everything else is different from his usual getup. Starting from the top, he sports a pair of sleek, single frame sport sunglasses. The cool blue lens not only protects his eyes from the sun, but give of a glint from the suns rays! It also hides this newest scar under his left eye. Around his neck is draped a beach towel with an orange, and black palm tree pattern. Not that anyone could see it with the way it's been draped around over his shoulders. Underneath the towel rests the strap of a leather satchel that is slung across his body to rest at his left side. Moving down to his torso, Nar sports his usual yellow Hawaiian shirt, but lacks any undershirt. The opening in his shirt provides a window to the musculature underneath. While not as toned as that of a bodybuilder, his abs are clearly visible. As are the various scars along his chest, and stomach. Not to mention the others along his arms that accentuate the muscles along them.They aren't so numerous as to cover his body completely, but they definitely add a sort of 'roguish' look to his appearance. For his pants, Nar has done away with his usual cargo pants for a pair of cargo shorts instead. Same look, but now with visible leg! How scandalous! Finally, he completes the look with a pair of brown sandals. Rugged, practical, and with some shiny brass loops to boot! The sounds of the crowd fill his ears, but a few voices in particular stand out to him. "Work it!" "Yaaaaaas King! Slaaaaay!" "Can I get your number?!" "Hubba Hubba!" As well as a few catcalling whistles. He doesn't need to look to know that Asuka, Juno, Ruby, and Roy are doing everything they can to trip him up. He won't falter! As he approaches the front of the stage, Nar finds himself asking the question "What would Mandy Fullbright do?" Though he hasn't been to many of the shows she's participated in, he's close enough of a friend to her to guess just what a supermodel like her would do at the front of the stage. Reaching the front of the stage, Nar strikes a pose by planting his feet apart. He balls his left hand into a fist, and puts his elbow out to rest it on his waist. His right hand comes up to grab the brim of his hat. He puffs his chest out a little, and pauses just long enough for the crowd to get a good look (and the photographers, a few photos.) Then, like some sort of military drill, he snaps back around to strut off the stage as they next model comes out. The moment Nar passes behind the curtain, he dips to the right to quickly head down into the crowd. Thank the sun that's over! #rp

Snow Storm

The short, fluffy pony at the judges table seemed to be locked in behind their gold rimmed, sunset coloured sunglasses. They nod and note a number on their clipboard. Their expression, contemplating Nar’s fit critically with all seriousness. This was art and it needed careful consideration.
