A long time ago, some friends of mine did a stunning RP story with their original characters over on Twitter. It was amazing. It told the tale of a young mare ( Mystical Melody ) from a remote island that nopony in Equestria had ever heard about, and her quest to journey to Equestria along with her partner, discover new allies, and foil an evil ponies plot to overtake the island and throw it into darkness forever. Leading her team of "Seers" together against the darkness, they eventually succeeded in their quest and drove out the evil once and for all, securing peace on their remote home. The mare was eventually dubbed the islands first alicorn princess, along with it's new ruler, and the four went on to rule the land long and well. I want to try and restart that roleplay, if for no other reason then to have fun with these characters and their remarkable quest to save their home. There's just one teeny, tiny problem: I DON'T KNOW WHICH ERA TO START THE ROLEPLAY ON!! This roleplay spanned 6 months on Twitter, and as a result, it's left a lot of eras to choose from with starting the RP, which I have listed below: - The Beginning: The start of Melody's journey, when she first arrives in Equestria via boat on the kingdoms southernmost shores along with Burning Embers. - Ponyville: The point where Melody and Embers first arrive in Ponyville and get settled in, and where they first encounter the Evil Incarnations, along with Lightning Storm, their third ally. - Canterlot: The section where Melody, Embers, and Storm arrive in Canterlot to attend a highly prestigious event, and where they first encounter Strange Tidings, the main antagonist of the adventure, along with Nature Hills, their final party member. - The Search: The point where the party discovers that they must acquire seven "Keys" and bring them to a portal chamber located in the Dragonlands to open the entrance to Strange Tidings lair. They also acquire a small airship to navigate the kingdom faster. - The Showdown: The point where the islands life force begins to be sucked dry by Strange's "Energy Extractor", forcing Melody and company to make one final assault on his lair using the seven keys to save the islands many residents. - The Aftermath: Post-quest. Begins on the day after Melody's correlation as the islands first alicorn princess, along with it's new ruler. - The Aftermath, Part II: Post-quest. Begins on the day after Melody's firstborn daughter, Aquatic Showers, is born. This is the last section that my friends RPed on before they stopped. So yes, lots to pick from. All of them great, and none of them easy. But there's one more thing I'd like to ask: If I end up having to play multiple characters ( there's a lot of them here, more joining in as the adventure goes on ), should I rename my account to "The Game Master", showing that I'm the one in control of the RP and the story? Or should I leave it as Melody ( the main character )? I hope to hear your replies soon!
Forgot to mention in my first post, but me and my friends set up a small website/encyclopedia containing more information about the story's characters, locations, and more. If it's allowed, I'll link that here so you can go check it out and get more information about the adventure itself, and everypony in it.
I am most interested in finding an RP partner who is capable of writing paragraphs worth of writing during each turn that will follow the course of several adventures and events. I plan on using my OC, Clever Cognit and would be interested in learning about your OC and discussing their starting point in the universe as well as eventual fate. The setting will be Equestria during the time Twilight Sparkle and her friends are the acting elements of harmony, but time travel is a potential plot point. All other details such as whether characters will be ponies, anthro, the level of technology and how the universe can be altered if you desire a different tone from the show are up for discussion.

It has been half of a year since the infection began to spread. In the beginning, it started slow. A few crazy homeless folks and drug addicts where trying to eat people. Then murders or accidents where the dead would resurge and bite apart the guards and bystanders alike until they where beaten down. They tried to quarantine communities, separating all in contact with the infection. They thought maybe it was in the air. Or maybe blood to skin. But it was death Itself. Even the bites where just an infection that killed you. It was death that claimed you. No one knew how everyone ended up with this death ‘defying’ disease. But In about half a year, everyone was on their own. No princesses, and food, safety, weapons, and water got sparser and sparser. Jewelry became useless strips of metal that make you liable to snagging. Buildings became either safe havens or deadly cages. Families have been ripped apart, torn from each other and pulled apart limb by limb. The princesses and all those holed up inside Canterlot have an impenetrable barrier surrounding them, and those outside have lost contact with those within. It’s every creature for themselves. So now, it’s late summer. A Thursday. The air is a humid 80° F, and it’s pouring down with heavy rain, soaking anyone who’s outside longer then a few minutes. Visibility is a fuzzy half mile, and the dead roam, groaning in the streets and towns and roads and betwixt the trees. Where do you stand? Winged Creatures: To fly, you use the air to your advantage right? Well the air is dead. Yes there is wind and weather, but the best grip your wings can have on the air is a slightly higher lift when you jump, and a glide to keep you from breaking your neck if you fall. Unfortunately, no flying for you, but you have a agility advantage. Parkoooouuuuur! Magical beans: Your magic has been dampened by that same strange world deadening effect. You now only have access to minor Magic’s, ex. Lesser telekinesis (small objects), No teleportation, minor healing(heal small wounds and somewhat stabilize large ones), etc. Guns/weapons: No automatic, or semi automatic weapons. Basically, keep your weaponry simple. Canon characters: Definitely welcome., however depending on the character we may have to discuss further. Immunity: Nobody is immune to this. There are no potions, no spells, no science, no anything that can give you immunity. Everybody’s in the same boat Stats: I want y’all to have some genuine weaknesses and some pretty fine strengths. No bodies gonna be high numbers across the board. If you wanna be an Everyman, 5’s or 4’s and 6’s across, you’re welcome to it. But if we get out of hand, then it just dampens the experience. Failing’s half the fun. Emotions: Death in the zombie apocalypse is practically a part of life. Or at least it is after you get used to it, which is something many have difficulty with. If someone close to your character dies, or a team mate or something, depending on how close you where, feel free to act on those emotions. Maybe your character acts rashly for awhile to get out anger, or can’t think straight, or has hallucinations, or has to cry in a corner for awhile. No one is cold to such things. Emotional reactions to other things as well can be interesting. Permadeath?:If your own character dies, you can either leave the role play, or you can create a new character, send it to me, and merge back into the game. You can allow your character to be killed if you want to play someone else, or other reasoning. Replies: If it’s your turn to reply, and you don’t with in 7-8 days, then I will take control of your character, and kill them off to make a smoother transition, or send them away to a base of some sort not to be seen again, so they don’t just go poof. However, if you warn me you will be leaving temporarily(or permanently), you or I can set your character in a safe place (base or safe house) until you come back, or kill them off in a way ‘Fun for the entire family!’ WARNING:THERE WILL BE GORE. EXPECT SOME GORE. THIS IS ZOMBIES WE ARE TALKING’ BOUT’. -{A highly edited walking dead character template by the Visionary Dame on DeviantArt. A few months later, while he was going to Canterlot, he was attacked by the caminers, but managed to escape. Currently, he offers his services to all those who offer him protection. The last time he heard of it, he was near Neighara falls.
I'm trying to get a group of ponies rounded up to go on an adventure of epic proportions! In the replies to this blog, I hope that we can discuss ideas for a group roleplay in the not-too-distant future. The type of roleplay will be decided by discussion, as will the rules and guidelines for said roleplay. Let's get after it! ~Cross
In any good story there should be a solid element of conflict. That could come from an external enemy, or it could come from the mission(s) that characters are trying to achieve. Whatever external enemies we choose, we could have set statistics, plus strengths and weaknesses that require clever calculation to overcome said enemies.

.Post in OOC: Crosswood's Place
For a while now, I've been thinking of starting a casual, location-based thread [s]shamelessly ripping off[/s] heavily influenced by Callahan's from Spider Robinson's collection of stories. For those unfamiliar with it {and diving straight into the adapted version of it}, the basic premise is of a seemingly ordinary bar oft visited by individuals of, shall we say, varying ordinariness. A place where everyone is accepted, whoever or whatever they might be, and may bring their troubles with them, and hopefully leave with a few less. A place where puns flow as readily as the drinks and strange stories are told as often as they take place. The Rules Of The Thread: Absolutely no violence - this is a hard rule, and any posts to the contrary will be godmodded right out of the thread, and I may even ask a moderator to remove the offending post {it's up to them whether or not to do so, though}. You may PM me for permission, but unless there's a hell of a story it's going to facilitate, it's highly unlikely I'd give it. While the original Callahan's stories are pretty casual about, shall we say, physical affection, let's avoid any explicitly sexual content. Implying stuff is all cool, but this is a thread for all ages. What happens at Crosswood's doesn't have to stay at Crosswood's - if anyone wants to make a spinoff thread, go to town - we'll be looking forward to hearing about it afterwards. As much as I am a fan of princess Luna, the Night Will Not Actually Last Forever - after a while {in-character time, that is}, the bar will close and reopen the next evening. If popular opinion wills it, after a while we may even timeskip a couple of weeks or months. You can be a newcomer or an old-time regular - if you want to be the latter, PM me and we'll go over the backstory. If you're the former, we'll see how well I can manage playing multiple characters. The Rules Of The Bar: Shared pain is lessened. Shared joy is increased. Puns are encouraged only because because they can't be made mandatory. While people may often open up about their troubles, unlike dancing, prying is forbidden. If someone is caught prying, they will often have a close encounter with a blackjack and ejected into the parking lot. They are more welcome to come back in, though - Crosswood keeps plenty of Aspirin in the first aid box under the bar. Most days there is a Contest - the tallest tale, puzzle or riddle winner or worst pun of the evening drinks free. Not the first day of the thread, really, I can only handle so much {and lemme tell you, the much ain't much. I am open to suggestions, even!} If a person wants to share something with the rest of the bar, be it their troubles or their thoughts, it's traditional to throw their glass into the fireplace - it's curved so the glass doesn't fly as much. After that, they have the floor, and everyone's attention. Have fun!
